| Post subject: | Ocean Battlemap |
I'm looking for a high-resolution image of the ocean that I can use for a battlemap. I intend to enlarge it to about 3x5 and add gridlines. (Then I'm going to print it at work and be the best DM evar!) I was previously using the ocean battlemap from the Maiden, but it's just too small. Now if Denny could sell me a 3x5 version...)

How's your photoshoppery? It might look a teensy bit odd....but if you were to take the Maiden's ocean battlemap and print it as normal. Then mirror each tile and print it. Flip each tile and print it. And finally...both mirror AND flip each tile and print it. That'll generate a seamless (albeit mirrored) ocean board 56" x 42". Not quite 3'x5', but pretty close. Another alternative might be to photoshop the gridless version together into a single image, resize it to your desired dimensions, and grid it from there. I suspect that you'll be hard-pressed to get a better ocean image than the full gridless maiden battlemat. |

Wait... the maiden came with a non-griddedn version of the ocean? WOOOO! I can just use my Photoshoppery-skillz on that!

Checking... /-\|/-\|/-\|/-\| Yup. Gridless version. Photoshop-merged, it should provide you a 5600x4800 px image. |

Awesome! As soon as I got home, I put them together and enlarged to the size I needed. After adding a 1-inch grid, it's ready to to print. I'm going to put it on vinyl scrim so that it's waterproof and easily roll-upable. I'll now have battlemaps as large as my dining room table. Eeeeeee!
