Hi, guys! I'm glad you're liking the new sets for the new comic. The WWG stuff is great for what I'm using it for. I have to thank the folks here a lot for helping me start up a new comic! The sets are all practical in the photo, no digital compositing for the walls or floor. They are in scale with the figures. Here's how I did the walls (floors are are not scaled up): 1. View the PDF in 200% size. (I have a large monitor) 2. Use SnagIt to capture the exact portion of the PDF page that I want. 3. Paste the capture into Photoshop and resize a bit to get it about 7" tall. 4. Print in maximum quality. 5. Glue onto 1/8" boards. I'll be posting behind the scenes set construction stuff on my site later. Resolution is very good, especially for the size of pictures in the comics. Looking closely, however, and you can see some degradation. I used matte stock paper for the first batch of sets. I think I'll try some glossy paper next to see what other kinds of effects I can get. I just started using WWG PDFs recently, so any advice you experienced modelers have would be greatly appreciated. And, if you have ideas for anything, let me know! |
