Beautiful preview! I love the attention to detail ((as always) and am happy there is room for sewers.

Hmmm, the street image reminds me - I dearly want to see the Sewers of Himmelveil, a good place for the Nosferatu to dwell, and for the zombies a place to call home. Draaaiiiinnnssss....

I have gotten a lot of use out of the Gothic Realms/Missing Persons sewers, and would love to see more. For some Canadian inspiration take a look at Vanishing Point - a wonderful site dedicated to Canadian drains, like these:

Grump that would make a spectacular set. Although I do find the idea that the spot in the top pic might have been incorporated into the sewer system. But I guess thats one way to tie hinterlands into himmelviel and modern.

Ufff....i really want see this set goes gold soon..... .

EDIT: I was looking over Curt's PCON Warehouse bash and it struck me that this is the sort of thing I'd love to see WWG release, with all it's angles, levels, tiers, etc. Perhaps something along these lines could be incorporated into Himmelveil.

Thoumont's already has some great angles... and just sections. More of this sort of thing is needed.

That was my thinking - a good example of Hinterland and Sewer Works. But that is a real storm drain - the outfall of the Chedoke Falls Drain in Hamilton Ontario.

A more typical example -
A part of the Beltline Drain in Toronto. Also called Corpse Slime Drain. (How could I not fall in love with the place?)

Love that love photo. A lot of it's character comes from the roof shape though, which of course wouldn't be used in terrain. The sides and base are great though... even the colours work well for atmosphere.

Great work, love the depth of the cobbles and the leaf litter. Would that be one tile across or two tiles butted together forming a wider street area? I do know it's a mock up so I am also guessing that there has been no real tile size assigned yet.

That's a single 6" X 6" tile (which is the dimensional standard for Himmelveil so that we can do seamless translations to 1.5"). There will be a tile variation included for extremely wide roads. If you look closely at the tile you'll see a faint but visible grid in the form of a depression and scattered rocks. Its more apparent in the flesh but not so jarring as to take away from the organic flow of the brickwork (sort of an inferred grid).

Maybe if you show it with another picture we can see that better !!

I've never liked the gridlines on the tiles. Its not a big enough thing to make me forgo using them, but it definitely makes them less appealing.

This subtler grid is much better. I look forward to seeing more of it.

(Asking for pictures reminds me of when I was younger, late teen - early twenties, teasing clothes off the women/lasses I was chasing at the time.... way too much energy spending)

Another thing I'd like to see is a jail/prison. Including some cages as well as cells.

Don't know if this was brought up yet and I don't want to search the 5 pages of thread, but I would love to see a 2.5D option for the buildings. I know it would be easy enough to bash but I'd like to see it built into the design. I use less and less 3d terrain these days and I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Well...there's something in the works that will give you so much potential flexibility, you might rethink that position.

That said, I do have ambitions to push tangible game mats and or tiles along side the PDF version of the product (that's being lined up now). You should be able to have that cake and eat it too

Game mats would be terrific. Heck, I even bought one of the water mat posters you guys made available briefly a few years back. I still have it.
I'm excited to see what you have planned. I'll be getting Himmelveil regardless but 2.5D is easier during a rpg session.

I would like to see some sets (like warehouses or slums) that are built on 6x12 or 12x12 (or any combination that work on 6 inch base scale), that have lots of buildings together on one larger base plate.

An example could be a 6x24 long "street" of shops or warehouses all next to each other. Specialist shops like Thoumont's still work on their 6x6 base.

You'll be happy to hear that Himmelveil is completely based around increments or variations of 3, 6, 9, 12.

Hey Denny, Glad to see that you have not given up on this.



I would want to see streets like those shown in "A Knights Tale", or any movie based on the works of charles dickens - ie, close packed, erratic, with walk ways, ramps, stairs etc. The place must feel like the people are packed in. The majority of the city would be done like this with a small merchants/temple/guild section. The best way to describe it would be a large 3d maze, with very few remarkable buildings. The specialty places can be separate sets.



If the core set allowed for the streets/generic buildings (with generic interiors) ie, everything you need to get started, I would pay top dollar for such a set.

Addons for ruined buildings, pubs, etc, would be good at the $15-20 price as long as they include interiors and fit well with the existing sets.

I don't mind a mix and match, as long as they are all the same quality. When I was in London, you could see that the buildings are different scales depending upon when they where built. Building codes and the size of people change depending upon the wealth of a city. Such things are more realistic, as long as you don't try to mix 1/72 with 32mm



I am mostly a wargamer, and the terrain is placed at the start of play, so I like designs that allow for dynamic placement and are built with the idea of moving models/hands during use.



If you preprinted on scored heavy cardboard/cardstock, I would buy multiple copies of the sets.

I, like most gamers I know, have families, jobs etc and the time and cost involved in printing, cutting, scoring, glueing etc, leaves very little time for gaming.

The next best thing is if you made the designs so that they complement black foam core. That way the models last longer.

I would like to have interiors for these buildings, too.

As I want to use them for different games, 1'' grid and gridless options would be nice. Also an option for using foamboard would be great.

I'm not really interested in tangible versions as I like playing around with textures in graphic programs. The shipping to Germany would make them too expensive anyways.
