Great looking material and cheap like borscht! I'm looking for backgrounds to use when doing photos of my painted minis, rather than playing pieces. I live in a remote valley, no other players, though I will be moving back to a city (Edmonton) next spring. No foam board here either. Got a photo printer (up to 8x12) and a fast B&W laser printer (not much help there unless I colour by hand). No store sells card stock here abouts either, though I can get my hands on lots of corrugated cardboard, and some boxes of the non corrugated sort. Should I use photo paper to print on? If so I guess I'd go with non glossy. Or is just plain photo copier paper good enough? kenneth |

Ken, Welcome to the forums. Before moving to the island I lived just south of Edmonton in Leduc for most of my teen years. Prior to that in rural Millet on a farm, so I understand the hardships ![]() Photopaper will work in a pinch but it's not ideal. Definatley don't use normal photocopier paper. The ink will oversaturate the prints and it's far too thin to stand up to even minor abuse. Georgia Pacific 110lb Cardstock works the best in my opinion. Have you considered ordering cardstock and other materials over the internet? Regardless of how isolated you are I'm sure you have a mailbox on the rangeroad. You can order materials from Staples online at: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/stap_home.asp?CT=1 Hope that helps and good luck to you! |
