Has anybody built the sunken atlantis city up to date? If yes, how is it? Maybe someone could post his opionion or any atlantis models in this thread? thank you.

I just downloaded the Atlantis set earlier this week, and probably won't tear into it for another month at least. But looking at the components, it has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it on that basis.

I need to build it as the end of the Rippers in Hollow earth saga is suposed to be in a city of atlanteans...I've cut and scored a few things...but don't have clear still how to do it... I've to do because I'll have to do then running if I don't do now...so I'll try to make somethig and put photos...sooner or later

Yeah, I've built quite a lot of it, basically a whole table for my Mortheim game. Looks good and is highly customizeable, basically a kind of fantasy Platform Command. There were only two things I didn't like.
1. The stairs have no textured backs, which strongly limits positioning. But you can use textures from the walls.
2. On the 4-way connectors there the pieces with the slots you have to glue onto them are too small, so the walkways don't fit properly, because their "connecting slab" ist too long.

But all in all I find the set extremely useful.

The tabs are meant to go in at a slight angle so they "hook" into the slots. If you still have trouble, just trim the end off with a pair of scissors so it's in roughly the same place as the end of the walkway.

Atlantis reminds me a little bit to the World of Warcraft dungeon instance in Ashenvale, the "Blackfathom Deeps". BFD is a sunken city too with similar colour schemes like atlantis.

I love the set to far, and I think the modular wall placements are fantastic. If there is one thing I wish that the set had, it's a way to make walls that can be set at 45 degree angles. The current L and T connectors only allow for right angles.

I also love the modular desing...once you have taken how to do it is a good thing to do more in the future (adding other posibilities as the 45 as you say and one to let do larger walls...a I not 90 not 45+90... I belive that I know how to do it and will try ... only paste a normal 90 but without "bending it" and I belive that it will work...) but I would love a miniset or kitbash with all that posibilities...and more kind of walls...

I will try to take pictures of what have build so far to show... And I hate the colums to cut and all that have circles in it... my fingers can't do it properly)

Currently I am trying to think of how to craft an Atlantean heliocentric orrery from cardstock.... As a link to Cydonia in an Archaeological Steampunk game.



I am also considering placing Atlantis close to the Hebrides, for arcane reasons of mine own.

So, in all likelihood I will soon begin to consider a possible future excursion into papercraft Atlantean architecture.

Didn't the preview for the new pathfinder set have some machinery in it? That might give you some nice textures.

Hmmm, it looks like it contains a rather elaborate elevator... ornate enough to make a great basis for the orrery.

I just completed a marathon cardstock manufacturing where I made close to 30 wall tiles and something like 45 connecting columns. I plan to turn this into the basis of my sunken city of Rhest for use in my Red Hand of Doom campaign. I love the basic modularity of it, though I dearly wish there were more wall tile lengths as well as other angles besides right angles (hint: modders!!!). Those little curved parts on the columns are kind of a pain too, but I like the visual appearance of it. Overall the set has a Minoan feel, which I'm sure was intended since that was the original fabled location of Atlantis.

As the Rhestilorians in the adventure employed an eagle motif, and due to the idiosynchrocies of my homebrew setting (floating continents = very little real ocean), I had to downplay most of the fish decorations, limiting myself to one large fresco and one small one. The sphynxes (sphinxi?) will be redesignated as gryphons, and be judiciously employed about the ruins. I'll also be employing the upcoming swampwoods set for walkways around the main ruin. Prior to that preview I was intending to use the wooden fort walls from Skull Cove.

I have also adapted a few other sets to depict surrounding ruined and flooded buildings. Hilltop Encounters has some nice ruined walls, and I'll be using the Dungeon Entrance from Villageworks to depict the tops of mostly flooded buildings.

When we actually have these encounters, I'll try to rember to post pictures.

Wait, Atlantis has a sphinx? A Statue? Im searching a large Sphinx (like the egyptian) for my slipstream game. I see only the Poseidon statue.
Are there more statues or do you mean a wall fresco?
