I'm curious, but I notice that you put all the monster stats and what not right in the module like most other adventures I see out there. As a DM I don't always find this handy, especially if the stats are all on different pages. I'm stuck flipping back and forth, and reaching for my notes on the current state of the 'monsters'. Wouldn't it make sense to put them in another section? I could print that separately and 'gasp' doodle all over it. YOU could also include stats for all other games you want to support as a separate section. i.e. Savage Worlds, Pathfinder, and 4e. Hell, they could be 'kit bashes'. I'd expect the other section to be really bare bones. I think that's what they do with RPGA modules. I wonder if the RPG industry is going the same way as electronic games where creators have to supply the same game on multiple different platforms. |

Interesting... and I'd like to see that trend pushed further. (Sorry, I'm an attention deficit... DM.) I see the game in two lights. One is the roleplaying and adventuring, the other is Challenges (Traps, monsters, Treasure). The Challenges are very system specific, and as a DM, I need to be bang bang ready to lay it on the players. No fluff. I go loopy looking back and forth through the encounter descriptions, only to go 'Shoot, he was supposed to sneak around back.' I'd love a page that says, A Attacks from the front, B back him up with C to be mowed down in front, D sneaks around back, Stats for A, B, C, D. I also notice a trend in adventures on RPGNow for multiple game systems. |

I think you'll find that this won't be much of an issue for the Scenic Encounters. I, too, have seen it presented both ways though and I know there's some people who are big into one version, others into the opposite. It's hard to say which is best for a full-fledged module. The Scenic Encounters, however, are just a single encounter. As such, there isn't really much 'flipping' around to do. And by the way....we're nearly there! |

Got to say that I just came across this thread and I love the standees. I don't play D&D but will download the encounter if the price is right. |

In the upcoming months, I'm going to be running the old ex Libris module from Dungeon #29 and some of these standees look perfect for it. Module has the party trapped in a library who's rooms shift and change. The books hold monsters that spring out when the party opens them. |

Its coming. The delay is honestly due to an unprecedented level of activity behind the scenes (and the pitfalls of having such a small crew to deal with it all). We have soooooo many amazingly cool things in the works right now (hugely exciting stuff for us) I think people will be in a complete stupor by the end of July or so

Bob Cooper is slowly finding his feet again and we have an area of the website in development which will more smoothly accommodate these types of offerings. There's a ton of convergence happening right now and I'm doing my best to handle it all. Hopefully not more than another month or two until everything aligns. |

Denny, You guys are doing a great job! I remember what it was like trying to get through the mush of growing my company with 2 Full time EE's and needing 7 but didn't know when I could consistently afford 3. Don't worry the growing pains will ease when you get this iteration of your company birthed. Keep focusing on the things that you are (customers and quality products) and you'll be just fine! Great job! |
