I think you're looking at it upside down. The image is completely flat (that is, the entire thing is at the same angle). The long angle pitches it enough to get it to the height of the walls, and then is cut off.

Not seeing it, sorry - if I printed that out (I will when I get to work) and fold it across the dotted line along the roadside, if I then stand it up if it's resting on the slope part of the whitespace, won't the other 1/3 (where the slope appears to level off) be left hanging in the air?

Ah...unless it SHOULD slope all the way, and it got 'cut off' due to fitting it into a Robo template?

I think you're onto it there...it looks like when the sides are glued to it they provide the additional height coverage.

The wall section will support it. Once it's glued to the wall the slope change of the white part doesn't matter. The white part could have been a 1/4 or 1/2" 'tab' and still function correctly. I think it's thick like that for rigidity.

I believe once you print it out and hold up the pieces it'll all fit together nicely.

I pulled the tiles from the .psd file into .png files and made a tile set for the program called TileSystem http://members.cox.net/shawnriordan/tilesystem.htm. Here is a screenshot:

This is a pretty easy interface for drag and drop design of tile based game layouts. If it is allowed I can share the tile set files that I made from Denny's .psd file.

One of the features that I like in TileSystem is the reporting function:

This tells you how many of each tile you need to make your layout.

I would definitely be interested in that. Heck...I could spend hours just setting up my dream layouts.

After learning with my son's GeoTrax, I'm all about pre-planning a layout. (It seems no matter what I build with GeoTrax, I'm always 1 piece short for the layout I'm trying to build. It's infernal!)

I on the other hand seem to end up with one extra piece when setting up my little sisters' GeoTrax.

Hey Denny, would you mind if Wonderboy shared the tile files? I started to read the Gimp tutorials but there's a lot of stuff there I really don't need to know; using this Tile Organiser thing and just dragging and dropping would be sweet

Yes, it is a freebie. Trying now to figure out myself how to change the .PSD file to a .TS one that the Tile program can use.....

Hey Wonderboy. That's a great little app!

Yes you can use and post the tiles contained within the Layout planner, NOT the full resolution tiles from that actual product obviously.

Would be great to make this available to everyone!

Here are the files: http://rapidshare.com/files/274498469/Himmelveil.zip. You will need to unzip them into the TileSystem304 folder. After you run TileSystem you will need to select File - Change Tileset and select Himmelveil.set. Right now I only have the Streets images included. I will be working on the Sewers images tomorrow to make a complete planner tool.

All images are 64X64 pixels, extracted from Denny's .psd. I have added some mirror image tiles as well.

Anybody else have an issue with the tile progam?

I loaded it and it is asking for a .ts file. I bypassed that and went in to File > Change Tileset...picked Himmelveil tiles, and then it tells me the file I just selected does not exist....

Any thoughts?

And yeah, the streets would be great too! And anything else!

Do you have the Himmelveil.set file and the folder Himmelveil in the TileSystem304 folder? They have to be set up that way or it won't work.

I have both the above sets hanging about.

I think the SOM/BOM setup would be okay to go image quality for a 7x7 tile is 175px X 175px 72dpi

Mini_Chunk I think I need to drop the DPI a bit for a 7x7 tile same dimensions (175x175) but currently hanging at 200dpi

I'm happy to host them somewhere but not till Denny gives an okay.

I meant to post before but got sick and forgot about the conversion till Wonderboy posted :oops:

edit: not sure if everyone found it but right click to rotate a tile
