Really the ship class count is only for balance. Having one or two ships more or less than another faction probably wouldn't be bad so long as game balance is maintained. They only real issue would be the ship abilities since basic stats like SPD, INI, ATK etc are already balanced by points. Mostly though we keep the ship type count the same for ease of balancing and to keep the overall expansion roughly the same size as the others. That said, we have not completely discounted the possibility of adding more ships to standing races down the road as expansions. |
