Dereliction of duty can sometimes be fatal...and sometimes the consequences are even worse! A ruined outpost is the site of a haunting by a commander who failed his watch, and what remains of the men he once commanded.

The Tir Wraith is the third in a new series for WorldWorks Games: Scenic Encounters. These are short single-setting encounters written for use with the 4th edition Dungeons & Dragons RPG and designed to work with one specific WorldWorks terrain set. The Tir Wraith is designed as a 5th level encounter, and works with the Deadly Encounters terrain set.

Within you will find all the details to both build and run the encounter, along with two new standees by Alberto Silva (The Tir Wraith and his skeletal soldiers), everything you need to run the encounter at the old, haunted outpost.

Is" 5rd" supposed to be" 5th" or "3rd?" I am guessing 5th...

Anyways, looks like it's going to be good. It seemed that "Literary Error" and "Goblin Raid" were both a bit on the humourous side from the promos, but this seems a bit darker.

Any chance we can get a nice generic encounters for these? Not all of use have moved or do 4e ( not yet even med it to 3rd ). I like the standees, just hate having to recreate a feel that is dictated by a given rules set.

Maybe better question would be, how rules agnostic are the encounter sets?

Ah, my apologies.

They are just like any other themed Encounter that is built within a rules system.
It probably would have taken me an hour or two to covert the first one to 3.5 D&D if I wanted to.

While the rules as released are specific to 4E, the encounters are certainly adaptable to a variety of circumstances. There's nothing inherent about the encounter that depends on 4E or is heavily themed to it. I could run it as 3E with just a few minutes work subbing in appropriate critters and comparable abilities.

I the title is a sample of the standees this will be great.

All of the Scenic Encounters give a sneak peak at a standee from the encounter itself.

Hard to tell from the description, but does this model need the Encounter Ser? or does it come with all the bits needed?

I would say this line:



says that it has the scenery in it.

As with other scenic encounters, you need the associated modelset to build the entire encounter (terrain and all).

However, you can run the encounter without the associated modelset. Scenic Encounters come with both the rules and the standees to represent all the foes.

Thus "everything you need to run the encounter" though not necessarily "everything you need to stage the encounter perfectly with all the terrain".

Just wanted to be sure we didn't leave a mistaken impression.
