Well, I bought both sets and had a quick peek at the contents.
1 question comes to mind. why didn't you place the mounts next to each other. that way the linxtabs could be cut out from between them?
By cutting out squares/rectangles and afterwards the inner slots you get stuck with loads of half-slots.

Its noted in the instructions that you need to cut your mounts at a very shallow, inward sweeping angle to prevent issues with fit. Unfortunately you cant do that with mounts flush against each other. Hence the small cut allowance in-between.

It's also noted in the instructions that you can reuse those little half-tab leftovers for your plug-in rail mounts.

Shouldn't this thread read **RELEASED** like the other two rather than **UPCOMING**? Or since TLX is a system, is it doomed to ALWAYS read **UPCOMING**?

First, let me say this: I've been away for quite a while, despairing over the rise and fall of Himmelveil. Now that a concrete product has finally arrived all I can say is WOOOOOOW (unfortunately, with a but).

The but is, are we going to see wall lengths other than 3" and 6" (not discounting the diagonals)? With the concept of the free floating posts, it would seem logical to have wall segments of all sizes in order to have complete modularity available. Having only 3" and 6" wall lengths severely limits attempting to replicate published layouts. Specifically, WotC's current layouts are usually based on their physical tile products based on 2", 4" and 6" tiles which would be impossible to duplicate with the system in its current configuration.

The system was designed at launch to accommodate both 1" AND 1.5" grids so that we didn't alienate our clix player base. That meant that everything needed to be formatted with 3" & 6" modularity so that we could consolidate production into a single format.

That said, the beauty of the TerrainlinX system is that we are going to absolutely swamp users with boosters. We haven't publicly got the ball rolling there just yet but you can expect to see an unheard of level of back-and-forth to figure out exactly what people want out of expansions. Adding additional pure WOTC 1" expansions is really pretty easy, we just need to see that the demand is there.

Some notes on things which caught my eye:

As the instruction file is/will be the same for all of your TerrainLinX publications I would suggest to make them more internationally.
I think most people who buy gaming materials in English will know that an inch is round about the same as 25mm, but when I started cardmodelling a few years back I was quite lost what 3/16'' thick foamcore might be. Using a calculator I found out that it means 5mm thick foamcore.
Another thing I really had problems with is the system you North American guys use to describe the quality/weight of paper as the rest of the world uses gsm. I know (now) that information like these things could be found on your forum, but mentioning the basic facts in the TerrainLinX instructions would make things much easier for beginners.

A small note on WWG's "legend":
It's not a major issue, but it is really necessary that the cutting line description, WWG logo etc. is fully coloured? It might not look like much ink that is needed to print this, but when printing hundreds of pages of TerrainLinX (as suggested) this sums up and wasting (colour) ink for some graphics and text I throw away anyway doesn't feel right.

I was a bit disappointed when I downloaded and read the instructions to find out that the walls are not 3d as I thought they were when watching the video. I personally don't like the overall look of foldover walls, but I know that I am quite alone with this dsliking... And I am used to kitbash things for my needs anyway so I don't care that much.

All in all you didn't promised too much and created a really innovative and very flexible system for building tables full great cardstock terrain.

Is it possible to get the good preview soundtrack from edgen anywhere? (would be fine for rpgs)

Actually they are 3-D. Each page of walls comes with 2 formats (2 walls per page); flat fold (at the top of the page) and "Anti-Warp" ledge fold (at the bottom). The Anti-Warp walls have a 3-D ledge that runs along the top of the wall to both prevent warping and to support upper structures. You can see a clearer picture of it on page 8 of the instructions. The beauty of Anti-Warp walls is that they look 3-D, have the same strength but they're much easier to construct than a standard box fold.

I know that the Anti-Warp walls are 3 dimensional in a way (I purchased both sets as soon as you released them). I should have been more precise in describing that "3d walls" for me mean walls that look like solid walls as for example in Chunky Dungeons.
But as stated above, it's not a problem as I could kitbash the walls that I want using the textures of the Anti-Warp walls and the posts.

You certainly could bash them into box folds but...before you commit to that I encourage you to build at least one anti-warp wall section. I think you'll be surprised at just how 3-D they look, how fast they go together but more importantly, how strong they actually are. Box folds are time consuming and in this case I doubt they would have any better visual impact or strength.
