Ditto ?

Two reasons:

* Kitbashes are getting close to passing the 200 mark, which would make ownership badge displays gobble up a whole lot of screen real estate on the forums (for die-hard kitbash buyers that is). Creating buttons for the unending torrent would also be a production concern.

* Kitbashes are fan created additions to core catalog products. We wholeheartedly support them but they aren't technically "official" products. We prefer to keep the buying focus on the core catalog as that is where our bread-and-butter earnings come from.

On a related note; we are thinking about new ways to implement the ownership badges. Although this won't happen immediately, we are potentially going to attempt to link ownership directly with customer accounts. In other words; your purchase history will populate your signature ownership badge field automatically.

'Course, some of us have sets from before there was a World Works store.

I hope it would be a 0 or 1 type feature. I have enough kits that it does take up a lot of realestate on screen.

As for kitbash tags, yes there are too many. I think the only way to do it would be to only have them for treasury sets and megabashes.

That being said, I can also understand why the mainline products would be at the forefront, since kitbashes and megabashes are secondary considerations.


The whole binary idea for sets sounds neat

People's sigs would look somewhat like

00101110
10010011
00100011
01000110

That might look confusing though, but it could be applied to a series of images that act as links to the products. That method would work best if words were stripped and each had their own unique icon, with colours being used for the genre, and the colour would be black if the user doesn't have that set. But that would only be to conserve on space, and everyone's sig would be the same size.

But then again I like the current look. It does eat up some space, but it gives a clear idea of who's got what. And it gives people new to WWG an idea on what there is to offer.

What about a generic Kitbasher badge with a number at the end... for example if I owned 10 Kitbash items it would be Kitbasher-10, or you could have the Kitbasher badge in increments of 10 but it only displays the highest kitbasher badge you have earned? Just some thoughts.

Sounds like the obvious compromise. The number's there for the show-offs, while the unofficial nature of 'bashes is emphasized--and little extra room is taken up.
