Hey Gang! We are pleased and very excited to announce that the new WorldWorksGames.com store has launched! (Refresh those browsers or you won’t see things the way they are intended to be seen...seriously, refresh more than once or things will look broken.) . This restructure was a loooooooong time in the making and includes many requested changes/enhancements from the community. http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/ We would first like to take this opportunity to thank Neal Haggard (Morgenes), our resident webmaster, for helping us realize a new vision for the site. Without his sage knowledge of all things code, his devotion to getting things done and his unshakable patience with picky graphic designer types (Denny), we couldn’t have made it happen. THANK YOU NEAL!!! We’ve made a number of key changes in the way the site is structured: • Master Categories. The site now employs a master category system with deeper subcategory navigation. Each of our core genres (Fantasy, Modern, Sci-Fi, Horror, Game Aids, Kitbashes) spawns a unique homepage and a custom sidebar specific to that genre. You can break product listings down by very specific subcategories, making finding what you need MUCH easier. • RSS feed and enhanced newsletter functions. Just below “What’s new at WWG” you’ll note these two extra functions along with a running archive of previous news articles. • Enhanced Work-in-Progress meters (What’s Coming). We’ve done away with percentages but included an abstract cog which fills over time to completion. We’ve also created links to active topics on projects currently in production. Click the cog and keep up to date with your favorite project! • Full search functionality! Store search now ties into product descriptions and restores a key feature we’ve been missing. Type “chair” or “column” or whatever little element you are interested in and all options will be available to you! • Latest Kitbash. Just below our regular news is a spot specifically for the latest fan created kitbash release. • Product reviews. Beyond the random review spot on the front page, we’ve reintroduced product reviews across the board. PLEASE help us out by adding reviews to products which currently have none. • Enhanced product pages. Product pages have been reworked to offer a more streamlined shopping experience. Getting you to the info, freebies and eyecandy you need! • Expanded Kitbash experience. We’ve reorganized the user created kitbash area to offer the best possible way of navigating our now gigantic collection of bashes. If you haven’t dipped your feet into kitbashes before, now’s the time! • New “Beginners Guide”. We’ve remade the beginners guide with a tighter focus on the tools and techniques most used for the hobby. • Enhanced FAQ. We’ve remade the FAQ area to offer a straightforward and user friendly experience. Digging for basic answers to common questions is extremely easy. I’m probably forgetting a few things that we’ve changed and no doubt we’ll be tweaking little things as we move forward but it feels great to have this update complete. The end-game here is to make your WorldWorksGames experience a richer one and to allow us to launch new products and product types in a transparent way. Great work. Not enough of a reboot to lose the WWG feel, but a refinement of all the good elements of the old look, but just so much slicker and more efficient. I'm impressed. Nice new, larger emoticons, BTW.

The new layout is beautiful: good looking and easy to use. 
The "What's coming" column is especially awesome, with the links, boards and previews just a clic away. Love the new icons.

Aaaargh! - The first link I tried doesn't support tabbed browsing. 
Overall the site looks good, and I really like the new master categories. Will dig around the rest at some stage. Unfortunately, as a regular user of tabs when browsing, it really grates when I encounter links that don't give me the option of opening them in a separate tab, and instead force me to link away from the page I'm on. Sure, some sites use features that do this so they look nicer - but it makes them lousy to navigate. (If you use tabs when browsing, you'll know what I mean. If you don't, you'll have no idea how much more convenient they are when you want to look at more than one page on a site.) There's only a few links with this problem on the page (the main 'flash' promo, teh what's coming section and the user build spotlights). - Any chance these can be changed to conventional links so they will support tabbed browsing? |

I've fixed the work in progress images to be regular links. The flash intro controls the links, so there's not a lot I can do about that. The user build spotlight at the bottom just links to the photo gallery. I quickly tried changing it to be a flat image but had issues with spacing. I'll have to work on it again soon. Sorry |
