That video was a ton of fun to create. We took an evening to film and spent a couple of days editing. I'm a terrible actor so we overdubbed a squeaky version of me talking (Paul's a natural). I really wish we had the time to deck out all products with these kinds of videos.

The Tower of Chaos is a small product but dammit, its fun and cool! I hope we get a few more dice tower iterations out there.

I would actually love to see Eric's Watchtower as a Dice Tower.... I think I remember someone doing it a long while back. A kitbash for this would help!

The videos are a hoot and a holler, they are.

I wish that Denny had more time and resources to make them, too.

I don't think a kitbash would be accepted for a couple reasons:

The WatchTower is a product from WW partner stoneedges. I've already had a kitbash using it rejected because its not WW's work.

And Even if that weren't the case a kitbash like mine would include too much of the product: The walls, a shaped floor, and a modified roof.



Someone needs to figure out how to do this with paper models.

Now that is snazzy...I guess I have to break out the ol' Legos and try it...although if I am going to do that I might as well get the He-Man Greyskull Castle out of storage and make that into a dice tower as well!

Hey, I did a dice "tower" kitbash too, ya know:

Arrgggg... Curse you LD2062!!!! I see this at the start of work today and now all I can think about is how to build one of these!!!!

By coincidence, I just picked up a whole mess of my old legos from my parents basement for my Kids. The Kids are still too little to play with the standard size Legos (They are currently working with the Quads and Duplos) so the bag is sitting unused under the house.

But the worse part is I have plans for tonight and will be out of town for the next three days, so the earliest I could possibly get to this is Monday!!!!!

I'm looking forward picking up any future iteration you guys can cook up, gore and horror just don't do it for me. maybe a cargo bay of a space ship or something? or a robot factory floor?

I like the open design, it's a cool that you get to watch the dice roll even though it's all built from opaque material.

The beauty of that lego one is that players never touch the dice. I've found that some players don't bother to use the tower during a game. Especially when they get worked up, which is exactly when they start throwing the dice too hard and knock stuff over. Although with a tower like that maybe they'd start slamming the lever and fling the dice accross the room.

I always liked that Tower of Chaos video.

The Tower is an awesome and useful concept, plus it looks cool.

Both the standard one and Bob Cooper's model look and work great. I would greatly welcome modern and sci-fi versions, even if they were just straight texture swaps.

After seeing that LEGO one in action, I'd say its inferior. It only works well to roll the dice when its used slowly (but not too slowly, or it seems to have the same problem). Move it too fast, and the dice slide instead of roll. Mind you, this may be more of a problem with the D6s, since their sides are wide and flat, and edges are rounded (so they won't easily catch on the LEGO studs), but I could see it being an issue.

For that design to work, it would need larger bumps like the WWG towers. Stuff that forces the die to roll and change direction unpredictably. Like plinko.

I do like the idea of not having to touch the dice, but then that action does add to the random results. Plus, you'd have to touch them anyways to change how many die you need, and of what type.

Still, the lever action of that tower is really nifty, and possible in cardstock with a little work.

But it won't get even near the level of the Tower of Chaos, not until it has an awesome video.

I know it's hard to compete with top dollar marketing productions like that video though!

I'm working on a castle ultimate based DM's screen with 2 inbuilt dice towers. one spits the dice forwards to the players and the other one delivers the 'Spot Trap" rolls straight to the DM behind the screen. It's almost 4 feet long. I'll post pics when complete.

Yep - that was what led me to building some into the GM Screen that I made using Castle Works. It was literally an inspiration.
