I would actually love to see Eric's Watchtower as a Dice Tower.... I think I remember someone doing it a long while back. A kitbash for this would help!

That video was a ton of fun to create. We took an evening to film and spent a couple of days editing. I'm a terrible actor so we overdubbed a squeaky version of me talking (Paul's a natural). I really wish we had the time to deck out all products with these kinds of videos. The Tower of Chaos is a small product but dammit, its fun and cool! I hope we get a few more dice tower iterations out there. |

I always liked that Tower of Chaos video. The Tower is an awesome and useful concept, plus it looks cool. Both the standard one and Bob Cooper's model look and work great. I would greatly welcome modern and sci-fi versions, even if they were just straight texture swaps. After seeing that LEGO one in action, I'd say its inferior. It only works well to roll the dice when its used slowly (but not too slowly, or it seems to have the same problem). Move it too fast, and the dice slide instead of roll. Mind you, this may be more of a problem with the D6s, since their sides are wide and flat, and edges are rounded (so they won't easily catch on the LEGO studs), but I could see it being an issue. For that design to work, it would need larger bumps like the WWG towers. Stuff that forces the die to roll and change direction unpredictably. Like plinko. I do like the idea of not having to touch the dice, but then that action does add to the random results. Plus, you'd have to touch them anyways to change how many die you need, and of what type. Still, the lever action of that tower is really nifty, and possible in cardstock with a little work. But it won't get even near the level of the Tower of Chaos, not until it has an awesome video. |

I'm working on a castle ultimate based DM's screen with 2 inbuilt dice towers. one spits the dice forwards to the players and the other one delivers the 'Spot Trap" rolls straight to the DM behind the screen. It's almost 4 feet long. I'll post pics when complete. |
