I don't know where you got the impression they required each other. Both sets build on the previous PC layout but both are equally able to work as stand-alone sets. Crushed metal is included with Red Sector exclusively however so if you want the game rules and components but the like the look of the mechs in Battleground better than you will have to buy both. |

Actually that's my fault, as the "recommended" box actually says "required" when that's not accurate. It was a flub up on my behalf when we renovated the site. |
