What would be great is transition tiles from land x to land y. From Himmelveil to Hinterland or Himmelveil to Swampwoods or.... So as you're leaving the city you enter the land of previous set X (insert mysterious scary place with monsters here).

Whats so awesome about the Himmelveil is that to leave the city you don't HAVE to 'leave'... you can go 'down' to the sewers! multi-dimensional city adventuring!

I have a strange feeling that once the user created Kitbashes start being published again, this will be released rather quickly.
Heck if nobody else wants to do that transition, I would probably do it just for my own game....

You have no idea how excited I am to see what people come up with using this system. I mean, its going to take some time but once that ball starts rolling I think you'll see some absolutely mindblowing layouts from the crowd here. I didn't even have time to fully explore the potential of the system with my promo build. I know what's ultimately possible but I can't wait to see how far that is pushed by everyone here.

I said it elsewhere but image a CON situation where we all bring our building blocks to the same table. I can't even fathom how insane something like that could potentially become.

I don't mean that in a blow-my-own-horn kinda way either. I just know what this group is capable of and I look forward to the future

I'm already formulating ideas to convert most of the mayhem sets (even the old ones like Armory). So when are you guys going to get to SOM II and MUG?

Given that both of these are Himmelviel locations, I would inagine that they should be at the top of the list. And a conversion package available for those folks who already have built theirs.

Oddly enough, I have always liked the look of both Harbourmaster and Thoumont's but have bought neither due to having very little use for them. Even when I invest in SOM, SOM, and COM I can't imagine needing them as my Himmelviel plans are more like a Martian city with all the stonework...

I'm holding off on building Thoumonts until it is, at minimum, ROBOed (whether by me or others). ROBOed + LinXed would be even better.

Excitement aside and to clarify, there are no official plans as of yet to convert older products to the new standard. There's a wishlist and while some sets may get that treatment down the road we are caught up in upcoming projects as our primary focus right now.

I know the community is eager to adapt and convert things but its going to take time. More importantly, our designers will ultimately have the final say as to which products, if any, receive that treatment. For various reasons, they may have issues with these types of conversions.

We're pretty much in forward thinking mode right now.

Let me ask.... (Not that I think that I would have time but.) If a set were to be migrated over by someone in the community, would you accept it?

Just asking before someone invests large amounts of time into doing this and ends up getting turned down.

They have the copyright, so they can dictate what you do with the stuff regardless of it's for profit or not.

However, considering the giant kitbash section, and the fact that you're basically kitbashing together the terrainlinx and other terrain sets, it shouldn't be that big a deal.

However, don't expect it to be easy. I wouldn't mind collaborating with other posters here to kitbash together first light or any of the scifi sets into terrainlinx. Considering it's going to take a long time for them to make a scifi set we'll need something to fill the gap.

I guess what I'm saying in a very formal way is that we need some time to breath after this initial release rush. We've got other projects already well in the works and right now were just deciding what should take priority.

I promise that we'll give this whole issue major focus and take a serious look at whether or not the community can help soon. At that point we can decide what the best way to handle collaborative development might be.

The Platform Command series done this way. Because the inherent new stacking method and on-the-fly layout would facilitate a large sprawling hive/technoscape with (what I think would be) significantly less build time required.

Gothic Realms updated and mixed with HW:2 so we could do large Gothic architecture, ruins and sewers to battle amongst. Sweeping stone staircases leading up into huge pillared facades, fallen collums, and crumbling arches.

I was looking at Thoumonts earlier today and I think it would fit nicely on a 9" x 12" set of Himmelveil Streets tiles (there's room to shave 3" off the current footprint given the sidewalks on the Himmelveil road tiles....just use the existing Thoumonts ground tiles as a guide for where to build the walls etc. No it wouldn't be as flexible as TLX buildings but I'm cool with that as I like the extra detail in Thoumonts. But build it on a TLX'd base and it will fit right in.

My most reccent serious build project has been First Light, and I would LOVE to see that TLX'd.....although how you'd be able to do the interior and exterior spaceship walls both flexibly AND realistically might be a conundrum.

Hmmm, you know, I was not a big fan of Mayhem Armoury when I picked it up. The set was too dedicated to doing that one building. I wanted something more akin to a toolbox.

Having taken a good look at Vampifan's Armoury build I have to admit that when making that one building it does a very nice job. And having seen Vampifan's build - I think that Armoury would be a great start on a TLX set, making it possible for me to build the Boring Brick Buildings that I wanted when I bought the set. From tenements to office buildings.

Better yet, I would be able to reuse the bits from the Boring Brick Buildings when I got, well, bored with them.

Though I suspect that this thread probably belongs in the General TLX forum, now that it exists.

I think once I'm done converting Mayhem Industrial to Tlinx, Mayhem Armory will be next. At this point all for personal use though.

That said, I've put Industrial on hold for the short term. I've got to get a build together for my next game. Just as a teaser... It will be a T-Linx build, it will heavily feature a 1 inch hallway and it will be set in Himmelveil (although in a modern setting).

I would love to see the Mayhem modern stuff converted to TerrainLinx.

Personally I feel that Mayhem will continue with TLX but I would be highly surprised if the guys (WWG) revisit the old sets addressing them to TLX. The time it takes to go through it they would be better off just doing new "better" versions. Don't forget that the general work of TLX is done... the instructions are done (80% the rest is setting fluff) so it's more about texturing work from here.

Personally I would vote for enjoy the old but embrace the new - there is nothing stopping us from mixing and matching.
