Wait... I'm confused.... so stuff is on sale right now (20% off catalog items) but TerrainLinx isn't out yet (released SEP 01) so what is the TerrainLinx MEGAsale? Will Streas & Sewers be released at a discounted price for a short time on SEP 01? Or is the "MEGAsale" only for current products from AUG 27 to SEP 01?

Look at it this way - it's the "5 Days to TerrainLinX!!!" Megasale.....ie everything *else* is on sale during the lead in to Streets and Sewers being released. Does that help?

It was a good opportunity for us to introduce our products to people who may have avoided them in the past due to pricepoint. It was important to us that people understood the quality difference in general so that they can fully get behind future offerings.

We feel that TerrainlinX will open the door to a new audience which may have ignored cardstock scenery in general. Offering them some early extra incentive was important.

Question, do I get 20% off the kitbashes as well? I'm not sure I want any other sets right now, but I have wanted to pick up more kitbashes.

So I'm having a dilemma with the sale. The sets I think I would use the most in my tabletop gaming are either going to be covered by the first TerrainLinx releases or are at the top of the list to be converted to the TerrainLinx system.

I want something that's both useful but not going to be quickly replaced by the amazing TerrainLinx version.

Just to clarify, there are no official plans as of yet to convert older products to the new standard. There's a wishlist and while some sets may get that treatment down the road we are caught up in upcoming projects as our primary focus right now.

I know the community is eager to adapt and convert things but its going to take time and our designers will ultimately have the final say as to which products, if any, receive that treatment.

We're pretty much in forward thinking mode right now.

I've posted to a couple of different threads at the newly redone WotC forums. I don't want to come across as some kind of marketing shill (hard to do with the quality of this stuff), but where appropriate, I'll keep plugging WWG!

Small glitch at 12AM threw the sale off for an hour. I've resolved it now and everything is working again. Really sorry about that.

OK, I've done my duty with some sale purchases. No, not 'duty', I wanted them.

The Terralinx launch puts me in mind of the launch of HMS Dreadnought in 1904 which immeditely made obsolete all previous capital ships, including those of the Royal Navy which already was the dominant naval power.

This is not without financial risk to WWG. All the previous kits which are not TL-compatible are now mariginally less attractive. I am optimistic that the result will be good.

But the older sets have a mine of props!

I suggest looking at the props. The odds are very good that you will always be able to use:
Beds
Cabinets
Chests
Traps
Tables
Chairs
Shelves
Cannon (if you use cannon at all, I am a fan of gunpowder fantasy)
Stairs (depending on the height of the ceilings)
Boats
Bridges
Crane

And The Maiden is a very safe bet. (And a wonderful, wonderful set.)

Terrainlinx, at least the himmelveil sets are using 2" walls. Streets will include an exterior stair. But if you need ones that will fit with a 2nd floor on top there is a kitbash with some to fit inside the village works houses.



Denny has only a few last post production things to do, but after a 16 hour day yesterday he needed sleep. Should be Gold some time today. And its September first all day so he's still on track.
