There is also plans for further additions to make knowing what you need to print versus what you already have made a lot easier.

You just made my day :)

Poor Denny needs to take a page from id Software and just start answering "when it's done"

Hey if people continue to ask...I'll tell them where things stand at that moment. So long as they realize that the moment is almost completely unpredictable ;)

Seriously though, there's been very good reasons for the delays here. Some were technical but most were positive behind the scenes upheavals. Like I said elsewhere, 2010 is going to be an extremely interesting year for WWG :)

Here's the TerrainlinX Planner overview video. One part promotion, one part tutorial.

I just realized that I neglected to mention "group select/copy/paste" for copying larger groupings of tiles and symbols. Oh well, I'll have to catch it on the updated video when we add additional features.

That's an impressive piece of work and one that looks to be very much well worth the wait. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Very nicely done, sir!

Looks good, and has some very handy features. :)

The transparencies in particular will be good when using the planner for a campaign.

And the asking "when?" is part of the fun

Denny,

Generaly the software looks great, I particulary like the ability to make the layers show transparently.

However I do have a question on the software.
It looked like the walls were generic when they are dropped in the planner.
Is there any way to specify what wall you are dropping in where?

For example, I know Streets has six different 6 inch walls. Is there any way to specify which type of wall is being used in each spot?

also does the manifest just list you need this many walls/connectors or does this also say x walls from Set 1, y walls from set 2, etc.

I'm curious about this point as well. Also, are there keyboard shortcuts for rotating tiles?

Not right now, but it's something that is going to get implemented. The problem is figuring out a way to effectively do it as all walls look identical from top down. There's talk behind the scenes about how we want to do this, but suggestions are always welcome. In fact, feel free to hit the TerrainLinX Planner sub forum to make requests/suggestions for the planner.

I just added it in after reading your post. It should be in the initial release, if not it'll be in the first update.

We've got plans for V2 which will cover specific walls from specific sets which work in conjunction with the current generic wall sizes and iconic representations. We tried to get it in there for V1 but we wanted a release candidate out there sooner than later instead of pushing this even further back. The planner currently adds posts, walls, railings and balconies to the manifest in a generic format whereas tiles are implicit.

One thing we'll be stressing constantly is that the TLX planner is absolutely going to involve "feature creep" and we fully expect a number of free updates based on fan suggestions. We've already go a laundry list of features to add to V2 but we're holding off on that discussion until we get some feedback from V1.

I'm running on a Mac and wondered the same thing... until I fired it up. Much to my delight - and slight surprise - it ran on OSX with no problems at all!

I'm using on a Mac as well. I had to push Java SE 6.0 to the top in my Java Preferences to do it.

Ok, I can't get it to work. I installed the latest Java and it won't go. Seems silly, but how do I access those rumoured Java Preferences?
