I've lately been frustrated by the realization that many of my favorite minis (particularly those by Privateer Press) don't fit comfortably in the scale of WWG products. The bases are roughly 1.2", and the figs are slightly larger than most, so their heads would be bonking doorframes. Now, the quick solution is to use 1.5" squares and disregard scale...but that half defeats using detailed visual aids to being with. So I was wondering if you've given any thought to possibly designing sets to be upscaled well? A lot of pieces, have enough white space that they could be printed at 120% scale (especially on small-border-capable printers). I was just curious if you gave any thought to this when actually laying pieces out. |

Heh, I am all too familiar with the just slightly too large bases used by Privateer. The worst part is that they are otherwise excellent bases, well adapted for flock, sand, and other grot. I have an Iron Kingdoms D&D game holding while the second book is in the works. (Timely is, alas, not an accurate description of Privateer Press, but they make such nifty stuff!) The Auld Grump, who would love to see some official Iron Kindoms World Works sets... but realizes this is likely a pleasant pipe dream. |
