Hi Denny and friends. First of all congratulations cause you really have brought all one step higher with TerrainLinX. I´m enjoying it a lot, thanx. I would like share my experience till now. I´ve learned a lot since i downloaded my firsts sets. My first failures was about the scale when printing... i guess this is a very common fail with beginners, but the most anoying handicap i´ve found is the difficult on find some materials if you live outside the United States, and the correct translation of some of their names and measures. Till recently i´ve made my sets improvising a little bit, with cork and some other things with not bad results at all, but I´ve found lately a web called artsupply.com and get my foam core ![]() |

Errr, I think that the problem is that Kratos1492 does not live in the U.S. - a U.S. supplier does not do him a lot of good, unless maybe you can find one with reasonable shipping overseas. (I do not know which nation he calls home.) If WWG started their own brand then shipping would still be a problem. A friend of mine from Liverpool has said that 1/4 inch foamcore is available in art supply stores and framing stores - but he has not been back in England for about 12 years now. If so, it still might not do Kratos any good, Europe is not at all homogeneous, and something being available in Liverpool does little good for folks in Helsinki, and less for people in Reykjavik. If someone can find an art supply store with good international shipping rates that might help a lot of folks. The Auld Grump |

I was going more on the statements of not being able to find what is being sought; there was no mention of shipping costs as a concern; actually, as with the willingness to buy from WWG if they went this route and the fact that the site he listed is a based in Chicago, shipping is probably not a main concern. Of course, once the rates are calculated, they might be! i do see your point though and agree it would be beneficial to all builders if there were at least one reliable source on each continent/geographical area would be the best route, but if the only concern is getting the proper materials, then I would say all options are open. |
