Finally went digging - a few years ago I picked a set of plastic dollhouse fixtures, about half the size of the standard, making them just about the right size for using with World Works terrain. I Not perfect - many pieces lack backs, but not too bad looking for the price, (I bought mine when the craft store was closing.) The nickel for scale is a nice touch. I have gotten some good use out of them, after a bit of repainting. Kitchen Parlor $2.25 a set, you may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, but this is the place I found. The Auld Grump |

Nice price. Wish I'd found some. After Christmas and Halloween I usually grab some of the clearance village stuff everyone sells. But thats almost always some type of plant, or grave yard thing. |

Oh, how I love dollhouse scale miniatures! Now that WWG graphics are 300dpi and so texture rich I've been thinking of making some of the models in half scale, 1/24 and trim out some more 3D elements. That would also allow me to use 3" tall figues and diecast vehicles 1/28. The mixed media builds would save a bundle in money and time. Not that I really have enough room to store larger diorama models. I recently asked for an estimate for fitting out a now unadorned 9'x16' hallway to be a gallery for models. I really want it done but the estimate isn't what I would have liked. It will be rather messy as well ... needing to strip the walls off to add in recessed depth. Otherwise the model depth would be limited to 2'6" on each side. I need to retain a 4' wide hall. Restructuring the studs for recessing will give me almost 3' depth to each side. Before I give the okay on that, I need to build a 1/24 diorama and be certain everything in it will work as I think it should. If not then I'm back to wondering what the heck to do with that hall. Nothing else has come to mind that I like. |

I , less expensive by a tad, but one of the least user friendly sales sites I have seen in a while - literally just a long list of items available, with nothing breaking up the list. Pictures are linked. Bedroom The Auld Grump Moderator Note: thread lock to prevent spam |
