Airline baggage.

I may have the opportunity to pick some up on an upcoming trip. It all depends on whether they will fit within my baggage allowance. If so, then shipping will be essentially free, which will make a big difference to getting these now.

In Australia, Phoenix Forge has them in their pre-order section here http://www.phoenixforge.com.au/c/254718/1/malifaux.html and I imagine that Realm of Legends www.realmoflegends.com.au will have them as they also stock Malifaux.

...and at $49AU, I find that price point very agreeable, even with the exchange rate the way it is...ie the Oz is strong at the moment and most of us are buying from the UK or the US.

My whole group is really excited about it, we can't wait for our store(s) to get it! As much as we try to build the TLX-stuff we have, we all have busy times right now, most of us being students with lots of exams those past months, others having just become parents... We will eventually get enough TLX stuff ready to play, but with TCP, we can play with amazingly beautiful terrain right out of the box!

And yeah, that means we'll use both lines. All three, actually, if you count the pre-TLX, since several sets are on my wishlist for their amazing-ness. :-)

Easy! Wear clothes you don't care about and throw them away / charity them when you pack to leave. Not kidding, I've seen it done. Heck, I might do it this year.

In one of my trips to the states I took back nearly 90 pounds of gaming material inside my snowboard bags :p Some years ago taking an extra sports bag used to be very cheap (my second snowboard table costed 100$, and it was like 60 pounds between the table and the books), no idea now...

OOOOk ! there i go... the changing rate is good and the shipping cost (and time delivery) will be less....- and I can take a look at the store and see if they have some of the others things I'm triying to find... thanks for the tip !l

Also check out Maelstrom; they have free shipping world wide and if pre-order and can wait until 17th August when they have them in stock it might be well worth your while at 31.50Pound?

Wayland Games in the UK have the TerraClips sets on pre-order (and at a good price, too):

I guess the shipping costs will be better from England to Spain as the shippings costs from the US to Spain.

Greetings,
Zephalo

That was a great find Zephalo, thanks. I have just ordered 2 of each set for a very reasonable £192 including postage. I was expecting to have to get them shipped to the UK from the States at an outrageous cost AND have to pay import tax. I am very pleased.

BTW Denny, I haven't posted on the thread yet, but I am really buzzed about this new line. If it's as good as I hope it is, it'll be the answer to my prayers. I LOVE building WWG setups (as some of my photos in the user gallery show), but over the past couple of years I have really struggled to find the time. This product will hopefully be the answer to my prayers.

Maelstrom is a really good and serious shop, I highly recommend it!

I am pre-ordering one of each set from them, but as a Malifaux player I am a little concerned the sets won't be fully playable until at least one extension is released for props: Malifaux (as I'm sure many other skirmish games) requires quite a lot of things to duck and hide behind, walls, fences, barrels etc... and I think the empty streets/sewers will be quite hard to play by themselves (especially considering that shooty crews in Malifaux are quite powerful already).
SO I'm ordering the sets now to give Terraclip the support I think it deserves, and wait patiently until the suggestion thread opens to submit idea; and I hope we'll see those props/alternative tiles appearing soon to give the scenery its full potential (what I particularly think is really good is the tile size of Terraclip which is perfect for Malifaux, ie if one wants to have an area terrain, one just has to place that perfect 3"x3" small tile area, so technically I can see how extensions can be released containing replacement tiles with lots of different type of area, rubbles, mud, whateverness).
I LOVE YOU WWG!!!!!

Hi all,
my first post here...discovered WWG a couple of days ago looking for 3D terrain for my group and i have to say that Terraclips looks simply fabulous.
Placed a preorder from Maelstrom (i'm Italian, and while there is a large community of RPG players here, there aren't many retailers covering these products) and i just can't wait to lay my hands on them.
I really, really hope that they will have enough success to warrant addtional sets
Keep it coming guys!

Heh, I'd have saved myself £3 if I'd bothered to reach your post on this thread before placing my order at Wayland. Never mind, both are quality shops and deserve supporting. Thanks for sharing the info.

Drat. Denny, any idea how long the delay will be? I have pre-ordered and if it is going to be a significant wait, I'll ask for a refund.

Tough luck BTW. These things happen and I would much rather wait for a quality product than accept an early one with flaws. Don't let it get you down.

Keep us posted please (as if you ever do anything else).

Well, bugger!

Were the specs wrong when the print run was ordered, or did the printshop make a 'substitution'? (I.e. bollixed the whole thing up by not reading the specs sheet.)

Guys, just so everyone knows--Denny and Aubrey are gone. They're in the States now attending to GenCon, and it's not likely they're going to reply for a fair while yet.

And just to make things crystal clear, word from Wyrd *is* official word, as they're WWG's FULL partner in this. If Wyrd make an announcement that the product is delayed, then it's delayed.

I'm aware of some of the details, but I'm not at liberty to discuss them on my own initiative because as far as I know, my active NDA still applies. I'll leave it to Denny/Wyrd to explain the nature of the issue in more specific detail.

Rest assured, however, that both WWG and Wyrd made this decision in everyone's best interests.

TerraClips Delayed
Hey folks,
We've been swamped with our August 2010 releases as well as getting ready for Gen Con and we thought we would give you an update on TerraClips.

We've developed a great new modular chipboard terrain product with outstanding artwork, unfortunately, the early product we received is not quite up to the quality standards that Wyrd Miniatures and WorldWorksGames product is associated with and consequently we won't be releasing it on August 5th as planned and will be delaying the release until later this year as manufacturing issues are resolved.

Our apologies for the delay and we will keep you updated.

The delay is disappointing, but if it means the product will be right then, as always, I'm happy. 8) It's not as if we're not used to this here

Been speaking with Denny and Aubrey about it... they ordered hard, 1.5mm board with a satin finish; they got not so hard 1.3mm board with a more glossy finish, and the clips aren't up to spec either (too tight even on the thinner board). The Booth builds look great, but I can see why they wanna hold off until the product is just what they want it to be. On the plus side, the Malifaux players in the demo hall seemed to like it pretty well...

The layouts are good.

There appears to be quite a bit of warpage in many places in the layouts. I'm hoping that those are caused by the extra thin cardstock, and will not be in the final layout.

Author:  Gamesmith Denny [ 08-06-2010, 09:08 AM ]
Post subject:

Will post later. Warping caused by extreme high humidity (110f) during setup followed by an abrupt change in temperature when they turned on the AC the first time. Thicker card likely would have made little difference.

More later.
