Post subject: | Introduction and a question |
Hi, I've just registered to WWG forums (after a week or two of lurking) and have decided to take the plunge and give the TLX system a try. I've always been a fan of DIY scenery and terrain for wargames and the TLX system, as with all of the WWG sets, really sets off my imagination. I do have one little question though regarding customisation. Am I allowed to make tiles, posts and wall sections using my own textures and art? I understand that giving away the pdf files is a no no, but if I design something myself which can be added to the TLX design, can I post the plans of it on the forums? Also, I know that along with the textures used by WWG it's also the actual TLX plans themselves that are copywritten. I guess the short version is: Can I make 'blanks' of the TLX design, add my own textures to it and build the model? I know I shouldn't post the actual plans on here, but would photos of the process/final build be ok? I'm currently looking into making a clock tower to fit in with the Himmelveil scenery. Something 3"x3" rising up four or five levels with a peaked roof on top. Perhaps an interior similar to the belltower Batman climbs in the first Tim Burton Batman movie. I'll post a sketch of what I mean when I get to drawing it. |

Welcome! Regarding your question, you can modify the files however you want. The entire kitbashing forum is all about this. You can talk about it and take any pictures you want. The only no-no is actually sharing the files. Sacretis |

Another caveat that came up early on is please don't post pictures of TLX patterns with textures from other companies on them. What you do for own builds is fine, there are no cardstock secret police that will come knocking at your door. It's just pics of mix 'n match company kitbashes that are a no-go. |
