Post subject: | Square Tower |
I've been working on a square tower design using various parts of CWU. I use part of the simple square topper for the top, and some of the various walls (regular and stucco) for the sides. I can have up to three stories. I've also got some windows, arrow slits, and doors on it. I set it up in Photoshop so I can turn various elements on and off and vary the type of tower I want to create. I am testing it in B/W to save on ink. It looks pretty cool. When I get time I'll take a picture of my test build with a two story wall glued to it. This is the same thing I did to VillageWorks, redesigning and kitbashing the parts in Photoshop to let me create almost an infinite variety of designs before they are even printed out. I have to say it's fun to do. I usually set them up so I can print on one sheet rather than gluing several parts together, but that does limit the size. With my CWU square tower I can print it at up to 66% of the WWG standard size and keep the number of parts down. If I want to go larger I can still set it up with Photoshop but have to print more parts (i.e. levels, sides, etc.) that have to be glued together. Anyone else working on a square tower? |

As promised, here are some shots of my square tower. 1) First, a refresher of the CWClassic castle I made for my wife on Valentine's Day: 2) Now, my new CWU square tower. Pop can is for scale. I made it in B/W to test it. All the design work was done in Photoshop. I can turn on and off windows and doors to customize the tower using layers: 3) Another shot, including a pic of the color version yet to be built: What are other people doing to kitbash CWU? Or to build it, let's see some more pix! |

Johnnygs Having the structure printed upon one page looks good but do you sacrifice structural support and strength? Lord Abaddon of Wormwood (cut and scored about a third of my CWU, pics asap) |
