Everything looks great! I don't suppose the blast templates match up to WH explosion markers, do they?

If not, they'll still be good as see-thru planetoids - or perhaps Star Trek-style local disturbances, particle fields, etc.

If by WH you mean either Warmachine/Hordes or Warhammer (either version) then yeah they match up there is both a five and a 3 inch marker shown in the preview.

I think he means "WormHole". And for the record the blasts are actually 2", 3", 4", 6" and 8".

Looking for it... I belive'll give it a lot of use to some of them ! Only have to see if it will be good with the savage worlds measures or will have to "touch" it a bit !

While we're on the topic of the templates...
How flimsy is the build? Most of my friends would be all "oh cool, where can I get those"...but I do have a few who might accuse me of trying to munchkin them with a flexible template. Are the preview builds just done on 110 cardstock, if they are stable?

Did not think about Wormkole. Dang, went back and looked at the picture again and it seems I miss read the inches on the 6. I was really looking forward to the 5". any chance of adding that one?

Yeah, I mean Wormhole. I'd like to get into WH40K but can't justify spending that much money when I probably couldn't play more than a couple times a year. With Wormhole I get my cool large-scale battle game fix without feeling guilty if I go months without playing (not guilty, just sad).

I know this is a 'Battle Pack' but will there be different textures for various things? Take the flame templates, perhaps the player is casting a non-combat spell over an area, perhaps blue swirls or mystic ruins would look better? Or is there another pack coming?

Anyway this is definitely on my get list.

Lawyers don't ruin games...I consider myself a rules lawyer. The attitude of most lawyers is what ruins games. All the guys I know like that just stick to board games :p

But I've seen people who've taken the GW plastic measuring sticks, heated them up, and stretched them...And so have they. So it's 2nd nature to question unfamiliar measuring devices...especially malleable ones.

Yeah, I suppose we define 'rules lawyer' differently - my definition basically is just the attitude, as I've met more than one rules lawyer who didn't actually know all the rules (though that didn't impede the pomposity in the slightest). In any case, you can always ask to swap measuring devices for the game, or use just one player's set, or whatever. Players always have to establish a certain trust and that's fine; one of my experiences was hearing 'hey, let me compare my measure to yours; mine's old & it might be stretched' (tactful, respectful). My other experiences were much more hostile than that, sufficiently so to make me avoid the LGS until they finally asked those two to stop coming to game times.

In my (admittedly limited) gaming experience, cheaters and other walking rectums (recti?) give themselves away & then sit at home alone because no one likes or trusts them. There was one guy who we got fudging his initiative rolls and some of his attack rolls. He hasn't been invited back since People like that ruin the fun. You'd think it would ruin it for them too...

Yes, that's just ordinary cardstock and yes they are stable. There is some finessing involved in building the larger templates but they tend to sort themselves out after a while as the cardstock "settles" into it's new shape.

I played Magic with a guy a few times, totally casual. He whipped me every time and I thought I was just really bad - until I noticed that he never had time to play a second game (with a shuffle in between games). Stacked his deck every time we played, then acted all superior when he beat me. I finally got my hands on his deck and the bottom half was just lands and cards he couldn't even play (green and white stuff in a straight red/black deck). Walking. Rectum. I see him occasionally when I visit home, and he still invites me to play. Sheesh.

5": print a 4" at 125% zoom
7": either a 6" @ 116.7% OR a 4" @175%
10": 8" @ 125%

Theoretically doable except the last one, a 10" template in all likelyhood simple wouldn't fit on a standard page. Also you would have to cut them by hand.

For better looking results though you'd probably want to print the 6" at 83.33% for 5" and the 8" at 87.5% for 7".

So a little kitbash on the counters and I can have a 5" planty blast template for my tryanid Barbed Stranglers. That is going to be fun.

My characterization is more along the lines of describing him by a defining trait (e.g. the group's only warrior might be called the 'sword' or the smart one might be the 'brain'). He walked to my house, he was full of crap, and seeing him made me increasingly ill. Ergo, walking rectum.

Everything was super great and cut just fine! This is a great set and I cant wait to spring it on my players. They really like novelty markers and cool stuff like this and it adds an extra cool element to the game.
