Just to let people know, there is a new version of Acrobat Reader available. It seems considerably faster, at least on my machine, and has several new features, not all of which I will use. Among other things it can read a PDF file to you aloud... The Auld Grump |

A couple of the online rpg providers are warning people not to use it - because the E-DRM service (to do with E-book authenticity) is buggy. Just so you know.. ![]() |

But DRM is such a good idea! ![]() Bah! Though I have to admit that I have had no problem reading my e-books that are DRM protected with the new Reader. I still don't like it, and I will never pay money for anything with DRM protection, but it is working without difficulty on my machine. Perhaps the publishers who are having difficulties with Acrobat 7 used an earler version of Acrobat than the ones who are not? The Auld Grump |

Well, I for one would have no choice but to stop using WW products if they switched to just about any DRM system. Not because I don't want to support them (which I do) and pirate all my stuff (which I don't), but because I run Linux. This means that I can't use pretty much any file that's protected with DRM, since they usually require the Windows or Mac versions of the latest Acrobat (which, even though Adobe has a version for Linux, I can't even get it to run). So, because I'm on a non-standard system, DRM files would lock me out of WWG glory! ![]() Besides, I know several people who have problems with DRM files even in Windows. So, I pretty much agree 100% with what Dkarr says: DRM doesn't stop piracy; it only inconveniences honest users. |

I've had problems with both Reader and Pro on a machine at the same time. |
