That's what rulers are for . Still There are a few things that are going to be fun to cut on this, namely the attachment slots.

There was a bit of a scheduling conflict on the whole cutter file issue. I plan to release those as a freebie in the near future. For the record; I cut mine out the old fashioned way...by hand

good to hear as I've already screwed up my first building lol I'm useless with a knife. I'll be putting together about 20 buildings so my 40k tables can have some sweet city fights.....

Really fast builds. 2 hours to do the first building from print to finish. I suspect after a little practice I will have to build in batches so it gives enough time for the glue to dry between stages.

Looks great and has a very nice pricepoint. I hope to see soon(ish) something similar with a more classical fantasy look - I know I have need for that kind of scenery.

You bet! You can expect to see other building variants as well as destroyed versions in SwiftScenics format. The cherry on top is a complete TLX makeover at the end. We're trying to give all skill/time levels the same level of attention by accounting for various needs.

Can we get a SwiftSenic Booster request thread or SwiftSenic area on the forum? Got lots of booster ideas and not enough textures yet to kit bash, and I don't want to choke this thread on them. I know more people will have them too.

+1 for a bombed out version with building interior and a shorter version (2 stage). In my opinion it is a good alternative for a Apocalypse Warhammer 40.000 table because they are easy to build and stock in a wargame association.

I scaled mine down to 70% for use with 15mm figures, and found them to be pretty difficult to do in this scale. May I ask if anyone had any issues with the buildings being very hard to setup/teardown at full scale?

Also, did you cut simple slots or actually remove a chunk of paper for the slots?

I cut chunks of paper out with mine, the balconies tend to require some finesse to get in position, but you can get the sides to bend up enough to get them in, required more force than I was prepared for at first though....

I haven't even messed with any of the balconies or stuff yet, just the core tower was iffy, made me a little leary.

Did you bend the tabs on the bottom edge of the balconies down? They go in MUCH easier if they point diagonally down towards the building.

Yeah, there's a fold line on those base tabs for the balconies for exactly that reason. You bend them down a little and they just slide right in adding additional support.

Then again, if you're shrinking things down to do a 15mm build and you're doing it as a permanent thing, there's no reason you can't just bend those tabs and slot arms over and glue them in place. No sense in cutting out the slots if you aren't folding the buildings flat for storage.

Looks awesome! I may have to pick this up and throw a few together before the Infinity Games I am playing this weekend.

The only thing that immediately leaps to mind as a kitbash would be a Walkway used to tie 2 buildings together across a street, using the existing balconies as starting points... Might need foamcore support if covering a full 6 inches, but for narrower gaps it might be possible with card.... *ponder*

Anyway, just an idea to throw out there in case someone with bashing experience wants to play (or if Denny decides to take it on himself)

You can do 6inches with card. Matt did it with Platform Command. In fact if the right textures were out I would try and reskin some of the PC stuff for Necroblock. I think you could do a bash using the balconies for the attachment points and extend the texture over a bridge piece.

Actually those all have foamcore... erm... cores. However, that was necessitated by the horizontal attachment method. For being made from straight-up cardstock, Necroblock's vertical slotting seems to handle heavier loads much better.

It's the spine along the back (e.g. the 'body' of the Necroblock gargoyles) that provides the strength and rigidity.

FYI, there's good solid engineering reasons why steel beams are 'I' shaped:
- The strength comes from the 'upright' section.
- The 'cross' sections are there to stop the upright from bending out of line.
- 'I' shape works better than 'T' as the 'cross' parts can be smaller (easier to keep rigid as both the top and bottom edges of the upright are braced).

For WWG purposes, 'T' shaped beams will work just fine and be much easier to construct. Two 'T' beams glued under the 'floor' about 1/4 of the way in from each edge should give a slim but surprisingly strong bridge - Sure it won't fold flat but it will be slim.

If you need even more strength within the same narrow profile, design it with a slight convex curve (e.g. the bridge rises to say 1/4" in the center) - but we're probaly getting way beyond WWG's engineering needs here.

(I knew those Civil Engineering classes at Uni would pay off one day.)

Have to go back and look at your design again then. I could sworn you had an option for paper bracing on those. Oh well. There is a little more flex than I really like on the collapsible build, that is to be expected though, but the permanent builds are really solid.

I haven't attempted them yet, so it may end up being self-evident...

However, Since there are no actual instructions for Balcony/Gargoyle Construction, is there ANY gluing on those, or are they simply, cut, fold, place?

The balconies are kind of a sandwich fold, so that you have the inside and outside of the balcony textures, so you have to glue the two sides together.

Same thing with the gargoyles, kinda, though the fold is a bit more complex.
