Looking great. Are there two versions of the full bookcase (i.e. one with the secret passage, and one without)? It's just that the pic with the full array of props only shows the secret passage version, and there are many times when we need a large bookcase: - without a secret passage, or - with a secret passage, but the players haven't found it yet. |

The bookcase has a full-wood back, and a bookshelf front. There's one page that has two "normal" bookcases on it, and a second page that has a normal bookcase and a secret passage bookcase (so you can swap them in-game). |

That's odd, I was thinking of Johann Dippel just the other day.... (For those unfamiliar with Johann Dippel's work as an alchemist and anatomist, perhaps the place where he did his experiments will ring a bell, a castle known as Frankenstein.) Having bought both Shellandrak sets I'm a bit wary about this. How much of this stuff is new. I'd rather not buy an entire new set just for a couple of items I don't already have. Although those curtains do look nice. |

Great add-on - you had me with the moosehead and secret bookcase (and worldglobe stand, carriage and 'Dussenberg' ...) !! Some thoughts for additional 'needful' items: - 'Organ' - every Victorian house had a parlor piano / harpsichord / pump-organ ! Perhaps a standing Harp or other large instrument. (Cultural refinement!) - Horses for the carriage ... ... Actually this could be a lead-in for a whole 'nother add-on for the House: "Stables & Boathouse". The "Stables" could have two or three stalls, with perhaps 3 or 4 different breeds of horses [matching teams for the carriage can be multiple printouts of the same horse]. The upstairs would serve as hayloft, additional storage, and perhaps room for the stableboy. Use alternate walls with mechanic's tools instead of tack and harness hanging up and the "Stable" converts into a garage for the Dussey - and a quarters for the Chaffeur overhead! Having one side large enough for the carriage would also serve for parking the Dussey. The "Boathouse" need only be a simple 'one-room' affair and include a small side dock and a rowboat, canoe and small motorlaunch [consult the "Thayer II" from the movie "On Golden Pond" with Henry Fonda and Kathryn Hepbuurn]. - Additional choices in vehicles - perhaps Ford Model 'A' or 'T' as everyone wasn't wealthy enough a high-class Dussey (or for an even earlier setting: a 'Stanley Steamer'?) Idea for a whole other building in the series: "Turn of the Century Opera / Theatre House" - with stage (optional front edge gaslights!), hanging chandelier, balconies, theatre seating, curtains, red carpet and queu-ropes and backdrop scenery. (You get the idea...) Just some thoughts off the top of my head. I'm sure I could come up with more. If I had the skills I'd try to produce them myself as Kitbash [... guys?]. Thanks again! |
