OK, so we played a game on my board last night, and here are a few pictures I took with some short commentary on each. Comments are above the relevant picture:

This was how I deployed my mixed Marvel force:



This was the starting positions for my buddy BJ's Legion Of Superheroes force:


My first turn ended looking like this:


He responded with the folowing movements:


The demise of Wolverine... he didn't really fit in with the rest of my force anyways.


Here we have Silver Surfer and Mach-4 on top of the building just blazing away at the Legion...


And it just went from bad to worse for the Legion...


But he didn't give up just yet, this Electro Lad guy was still thinking he could tackle the Surfer.


Overall this was a fun game. I won a pretty major victory, he just didn't bring the hitting power to stop the new Silver Surfer (who was worth every penny of the $24 I bought him for!) This was also the first HeroClix game that i actually had half a clue what I was doing, I had actually gone through and built my force ahead of time, looked at their dials to find out what their abilities were, and thought of ways to use my heroes together.

And as I final thought, a year ago I said I hated HeroClix. I still hate the collectible aspect of it, but there are enough online retailers carrying individual figures that i can build the teams I want to about 600 points for under $100, and that beats most games I play anyways. My next force is going to run me about $50, and I think it will be fun to play, if not necessarily a winning combination.

EDIT: As a follow-up, I would make a change in my basic force. Both Spiderman and Wolverine did nothing for me, neither of them have the hitting power or the survivability to hold their own in a game of this magnitude (not that it was huge or anything.) Those 81 points would be better served by having a single heavier hitter from either the Avengers team or the Defenders team, so I can at least have a theme or team bailities going on.

Nice shots, great build. What are the different coins for, I mean is there a difference or just started running out on change?

We use pennies for first turn activation, nickels for second turn... that way at the end of the turn we don't remove the new tokens. We had 3 Light and 3 Heavy objects scattered about the table, but only the Coke Machine and Motorcycle were picked up. The missing model is Shrinking Violet. Night Thrasher was released as a part of Supernova.
