Correct me if I'm wrong. Postscript which adobe uses is licensed, so Gimp uses the GNU version Ghostcript since its basically free to use.

I tried to email the GIMP setup.exe file and my email, (yahoo), bounced the message back. As a security measure they don't allow executables to be attached.

Does anyone know a way for me to send the file?

Change the file extension to say .jpeg, then have the recipient change it back.

Changing the extension sounds simple so I'd like to try that first. But where can I go to change the extension? Its never shown when the file is listed.

You sir must go in your explorer sesion to the toolbar on top in the option Tools\Folder options\view\ and you have there one option that says something like don't show extension for know files...or something like that....(sorry I've it in spanish so I'm making a traslation...and I supose you have a windows installed)... Can you know where I work ?

Now to see if yahoo lets it through, if it still works after being changed back, and if it fixes the problem.

Well I figured it is long past due for an update. Sadly I do not have much to show. The good news is that the first floor of the manor is almost finished. It is just a matter of gluing in some interior walls with their doors. Pretty easy stuff compared to things like the bay windows and the grand entry staircase. I also have the 2nd floor glued down and awaiting to be cut out.

The bad news is that I don't see me finishing the manor before next Friday which is when I head to the Spring Fever convention. So it looks like there will be a slight change of plans for the scenario I wanted to set in the manor. My newly revised date of completion is now May 29th as the weekend of the 30th is Con Carolinas. So we shall see what happens.

I do have some photos I have been taking but I just have not had time to get them off of my camera and post them. Though I do have some bits of to share.

As LD 2062 was talking about laying out plans using the floor tiles in another thread, I thought I would share the layout images leading up to the final floor plans.

Here is the same image I posted in the layout thread. This shows my preliminary layout which was just boxes and to shows the rooms. The next step was to add the floor tiles to get a feeling of how things would look. From there I took the floor tile layout into photoshop to use as a guide and I created the finalized floor image that I used for the manor. Looking at the images below you can see how I changed the layout slightly. These changes were a result or new ideas coming to mind, not liking how something looks, etc.



The first floor final image (which you have seen) and the second floor final image. As you can see I added rugs to the 2nd floor for some variation. Also the upper right hand room of the 2nd floor will have a staircase leading down to the room below. I am just not sure exactly where I want the staircase to be. I also have plans for there to be stairs in the 2nd floor hallway leading to the attic or possibly a 3rd floor (added later).

Ok time for a long overdue update. Most of this is just in process photos of gluing stuff.

First I glued down the front entrance area. Then the back of the manor. You can see my secret weapon used in my builds...The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It works nicely as a heavy object to keep the floor completely flat while the back wall I glued in place dries. You can also see the machinist's square, at the bottom, that I use to make sure that walls are at a right angle and not leaning.



Next came the right side of the manor (if you are facing the front). Then the two middle walls that cross the whole floor. You can also see the stair railings. They are reinforced by using cardboard between the cardstock.





The other bay window was glued into place and the left side of the manor was glued in last to complete the outside walls.

This shows how the stairs are reinforced with foam core. It makes the stairs very solid and level.



The stairs have been assembled and are finally glued into place. I thought I took a picture of the stairs as I built them, but sadly did not.

Yes ... I see what you say...but if you don't use (like me) reinformcement...then you have no way to glue it... next time I'll make a tab to glue it...or do like you and reinforce...
