Hi all, some of you may have seen my newb posts in other sections of the forum regarding my first forays into making a entire table from cardstock for Malifaux.

I though i would share my progress and try to keep it upto date with some wip pics as i go along.

My first 2 pieces ever, a pair of ramps

So thats the pics, im midway through printing out everything i need for a 3x3 board with some second level areas to get started. Currently just using the himmerville streets sections but i will expand. Very impressed with my poor old Kodak printer that has pulled 2 ramps, 45 6 inch tiles, 3 3inch tiles and all the templates that were needed. Off just a single ink cartridge.

Now the quest continues for the perfect black marker for edging as a sharpie bleeds into the surrounding card far too much.

Just a little update for today. Spent a fair few hours working on the project today. Everything needed is printed, all the templates and all but 4 of the floor tiles are cut out and ready to meet the foam card.
Getting a little more untidy round here lol

You really want to edge stuff before gluing. Cut and score, edge, then glue. Doing it after construction makes it harder to edge, not easier.

thanks for the replies and tips. I have begun edging everything as i go. Floor tiles on the other hand...well i will have to go back and do those once everything has been finished.
Silveri, i am going for just streets at the moment but want to add in buildings next. But not until the basic board is complete. Are you a member of the Wyrd forums as i have seen a couple of WWG builds on there and was inspired by one of them to give it a try.

well its been a while since the last update. But i thought i would show the progress thats been made in the more organised corner of my chaos realm.



In the pic you can see all 48 'floor' tiles, the walls for all the building sections and the 6 arches that make up the bridge. On the matt are the mass of barricades that will go around the edges of the second level of the table.

With 4 weeks before the 'eastern front wargames show' the project is moving along and should....touch wood...be finished.

Everything is complete. I need to mount the floor tiles to some cork tiles for extra strength and then its all done. Will post a pic of the complete board once my 6 minions are settled.

The first thing that caught my eye was the usage of cork board. I am unsure what you mean by wanting/needing this.

The second that caught my eye...SIX MINIONS=SIX KIDS???

Well project complete....in the initial sense.

Now i can see the full board i can see lots of things i want to add. But the initial build is done and dusted.

Has it been worthwhile...well i think so. I had one heck of a learning curve and many hours of trial and failure as i experimented. It gives me what i wanted and thankfully in time for this months eastern front wargames show.
Now the itch is fixed in and i can see lots more to be built and added.

Would terraclips have been an easier option....definately lol. You need a lot of time and patience to make these.

Nice build. I found that you really don't need to back them in 12x12 squares when building large boards mine was 4'x4'. the trick I found was to build the 6"x6" tiles in to 12x12 tiles then build the 12x12 tiles to 24x24 tiles, then finally connect the 24x24 tiles to make a 4'x4' board.

So what is your post tolerance? If you can stand to make an army of post go a head and added some buildings. I will freely admit, my post tolerance is the reason I wanted to start my TCP sets of with buildings . I would put one right in the blank tile at the middle of the board and then use a 3x6 tile to make a bridge to connect to one of the raised sides of the game board.

I always hoped i would own a home again and now its come true!!! lol
