This is my first WorldWorks build. I was foolish and began with a 4'x4' wargaming table.

Oh well... at least it looked nice.
(For the bottom, I speed mounted them on 1'x1' commercial vinyl floor tiles.)

What did the other player(s) think of it?

Was the setting a city concourse area? I liked the large angled wall - it helped give an open 'feel' to the scene. Looks like you had plenty of room for 'running' battles.

the angled floor tiles, are they a part of the Titan set, or did you just cut them diagonally?

The players certainly appreciated the aesthetic of the table. My inspiration was one of the last scenes in Aliens when Bishop comes to pick up Ripley and Newt. So yeah, it is like a concourse. The angled floors are just a regular tile cut on a diagonal. The weird thing is the Titan set includes the 8.5" diagonal wall but not a tile to go with it.

The unfortunate news, however, is that it took nearly as long to build as to play! Maybe I'll get better at it as I build it more. I don't think I'll ever set out to create another project like this. Instead, doing smaller maps and playing more frequently is probably the best route to go: to build up till one has the pieces to make something elaborate.

First build is always the worst. Now you already have most of the parts for most other large titan builds and just have to start filling in with other Titan sets as you need them. Just think how long something this detailed would take to build if you had to hand paint and texture that much foamcore yourself, or had done it in plaster casting.

Setup time does get much better with practice. Knowing what you are building ahead of time can help speed things up greatly. Make sure and take a look at the TLX Planner, if you haven't already. It is well worth the low cost.
