Warning, the post below is VERY image heavy.

Well, it's been ages since my last big build, so 2012 seems like it is high time to show you my latest. It started off at Xmas as a simple single model build and then grew from there. It ended up including the three Terraclips sets (Streets, Sewers and Buildings of Malifaux), The Maiden, Himmelveil Harbormaster, Himmelveil Canals and some bits and bobs from a few other sets to boot.

The first 4 pix show the entire model, a harbor area of a city from 4 different angles. Please forgive the drying laundry in the background, but it's a wet day here in London.

Also, there are some smaller ships in the harbor behind the master's house.

Now it's time to look inside The Maiden (a build I have been wanting to attempt for 5 years now). Here is the forecastle

What more can there be ? Well, we can now go underground into the sewer complex. Firstly, here is the area under Ye Olde Magik Shoppe.

One last pic, which is is of the inner sewer area, which will be the site of the climactic battle of the upcoming adventure.

I really love what you've put together. Very well thought out.

Now you've inspired me to complete my "Maiden" and add it to my river which fortunately, thanks to your photos, is also 18" wide but only 42" long. I hope my other ships don't get too crowded.
Your river appears to have a very nice length to it to keep from being too crowded.

Good lord, that's awesome! I've got my Maiden right behind me, but I don't think I have enough TLX harbor tiles yet to pull off using it yet...

I really like how you've combined pre-TLX, TLX and TCP sets together to make things work. Really great stuff!

That's a wonderful show of how the various WWG sets work together! Hopefully in a few weeks I've have something similar to share (more of a "Return to Skull Cove").

I suppose it's a relatively minor piece of the whole layout by volume, but given that my own sadly misshapen Maiden is sitting half-finished on the desk directly next to me as I type this, I feel compelled to offer serious kudos on your Maiden-- I'm more than a little jealous of your precise lines and clean edging. The same kudos go for all your other bits as well, of course, which are equally well done; the Maiden is just the thing that jumped out at me.

Thanks for the praise everyone. It makes the numerous late nights and copious eye rolling from my wife more bearable lol.

To seregsarn, I think the "cleanness" of a build comes with practice. I have been doing this for nigh on 8 years now. Patience is also a virtue. Two tips from me. Firstly, with walls, always press them under some books for 24 hours after glueing. Secondly, with edging, don't be afraid to go with bold, black edges almost every time. Thick black edges look much better than washy couloured ones imho. Remember, white is your enemy and must always be covered.

On a different note, a store I was in had a poster up for "Hunger Games", but they didn't have enough space, so the side of the poster with the "H" was tucked back in a crack. I stopped and looked twice.

I started building Himmelveil Harbourmaster at Xmas. Followed that up with the Maiden during Jan and Feb. Mar and Apr saw the creation of the Docks and the remaining props were all made in the last week.

I put the design for the build together on the day that I posted the photos, about a week ago, although I had the outline in my head for sometime now.

I was pleased with the result and am glad you are as well.

Yep, the sets went well together. I ran the adventure yesterday and today for the group who absolutely loved it. It all went swimmingly well and finished in an open ended fashion that means that a "part two" will be required soon.

Something to go under the sewers will be a nice surp"rise". I was thinking of building a Lost Halls/Dragon God combo next. I'll hold on for a few weeks I think until I know what is coming.
