Sometimes, it's fun building badly....

By Friday evening I'd finished writing the scenario details for my campaign finale at the weekend. It had a big gunfight at the end. It was even in a deserted power plant. It lacked only a suitable backdrop to play the finale out on. On late Friday afternoon I decided that gridded paper would just have to do but faced with some spare time on Saturday morning, and renewed energy, I decided to go for it.

Three hours later I had a set. I used only the simplest geometries that I could find. It was uneven, unedged, misglued and generally crap as a build. But even then it still beat a piece of paper hands down. So here it is at the start of play:

It took from 9.30am to 12.30pm to build, even with a slight delay while I discovered that a 3D walkway would take too long. The players had a blast with it, leaping over the flames and across the different levels. My only regret is that I didn't have another 10 minutes to print out some transparent flames to go with it. Great fun had by all.

One day, I'll do the PCom build properly. Honest!

Sweet indeed! Even something done in haste is excellent compared to nothing.

Nice - simple - effective.

I tend to be over careful with my building. It's great to be reminded that the players see great scenery, not the collection of defects I grit my teeth over.

I wish I could do this............... do things quickly and not try for 'best-work' everytime............. but I can't!!

This is why I have such a backlog of terrain builds and miniature painting projects.

Respect to ya for being able to do such a good job in such a quick time, coz it does look good
