With TerrainLinx - or "System 2," as I've been referring to it to non-WWG using friends - only hours away (more or less), I just completed my most recent construction in "System 1." Once again, I decided to go with a plan/design of my own creation: A single-family, two-story house.

My concept this time was a simple house with a garage, that could possibly be found somewhere in a city. In order to accomplish my goal, I used the following sets:
* Bits of Mayhem: Downtown
* InteriorWorks: Pubs & Inns
* Mayhem Armory
* Shellendrak Manor and
* Wildwood Grove

This build represents another couple of firsts for me:
- It was the first time I built something using foamcore as integral structural elements and
- It was the first time I built an indoor/outdoor map piece.

As far as using foamcore goes, I used <a href="http://www.foamwerks.com" target="_blank"><b>FoamWerks</b></a> tools to help with the cutting and construction. To be honest, they were far more fun to use than I was expected. I'll definitely be using them when I do more "System 1" builds.

I found the railings a little… weak… in my street corner build - they crumple easily. I also tried something a little different with the garage-top patio: I put transparency strips between the inner and outer fold of the railing. It's a bit more sturdy.

Other touches in the build that I enjoyed putting in were:
* The Defender arcade game in the garage
* The half-wall in the second floor landing
* The master bedroom's bathroom and closet
* The patio on the garage.

I know that they're "little things," no pun intended, but as the saying goes "Simple pleasures are the best." Yeah, they are.
