I dropped everything I was doing to build this sucker. When I saw it I knew I wanted it to work with my Horrorclix Aliens stuff, so that meant bashing it up to 1.5 inches.


Here it is with one of my favorite Horrorclix The Lab figs.

This is my first time attempting camouflage. Interesting, but difficult to pull it off while maintining the details.

Had to reinforce the (removable) floor with cardboard to prevent the floor warping.

In my review (click my banner, below) I cover the high points of things I'd do differently bash-wise. But I'd definitely try one with a preset color scheme (but maybe with a faction symbol and some random "stickers"...). This one was the "learner" and I was glad that I got to try the camo. Definitely know the assembly trouble spots next time around!

That looks great! The camo is pretty good for a first try, too.

I love my M722, and I'm planning on building a second one. I'm betting it's a bit easier scaled up like that. Of course, I've seen it scaled down to 15mm, too. That was a little crazy.

They do build up well... Would love to see another UD 41 done big too..

1. It was a fun paint job to do. Maybe I'll do a "city camo" next time so the details come through better.

2. Pedant away! The ins and outs of nomenclature are of only passing interest to me, but I built this specifically so my 1.5 figs could stand in the doorways--so a scale up was necessary (^_-). But now that you mention it, I may just add some grid lines so that I can get some aliens bursting in and maybe being in the "back row" makes a difference to the pilot...)

3. As for what's fair or not in a review, the nature of review is to express opinion. I don't have the burden of being a professional reviewer--just a guy building to suit my needs. I've found that I hardly ever build anything as-is (what little there is in my gallery should be a hint), and all of my reviews here should reflect that point of view. Some of my comments were directed to needs, but some were (fairly) directed to design: If there's a piece that folded in such a way that the seam is put into an obvious position, then that goes down as--not flaw--but something that I might fix to make the final model look a bit better (^_-)

4. I'm getting more and more into edging and hope to post up some of the trials I've had with various Japanese items (^_^)v

Thanks again for checking my effort out. I'm looking forward to getting in there and building it again. (Ah, and here's a question: Can you think of any reason why there would be a bizarre yellowing of the image when I transfer the file from .pdf to .png? This is the only model that I've ever converted over that's done that!)
