I'm going to have to think on that for a bit. It is a technically legal, though grossly exploitave, manipulation of the rules. |

Would it make more sense for the ramming ship to stop where it first made contact? How about a minimum of 1 point of damage to the ramming ship. Other games I have played have allowed for the ramming tactic but discouraged it by making it instantly fatal to the rammer. On the other hand, something the size of a carrier should be easy enough to avoid with a fighter, you'd think. |

Just a thought, but should you really be able to Ram a squadron of fighters with a battlecruiser? Wouldn't they just scatter and reform? It's kind of like a US Destroyer trying to ram a squadron of fast attack boats. Virtually impossible unless they are dead in the water. I think that a bigger ship should be able to pass through a squadron of fighters. For everything else, I agree with previous postings stating that ships should be forced to end movement on ramming. |

Oh, one more thing I thought of that the rules don't really cover with the existing rules. If I ram a ship and move to the other side, what if I come in contact with another ship? Do I execute ramming on that? If so, then I would move even farther under current rules. --------- Here's what has come out of these situations swirling around in my head... From a physics standpoint, I would think it makes sense to let capital ships push smaller ships, much like asteroids do, and have it finish it's movement. Any further contacts made are resolved as a secondary ram and are also pushed if their size allows it (compared to the original ramming vessel). Equal sized ships or smaller classes of ships will stop and not push their target. It also allows you to have a capital ship ram a regular ship in to a friendly ship, which could be cool to allow. It also lets a capital ship sandwich a ship in between a collision with another capital ship and cause the smaller ship to take two rams as both capital ships collide in to it. |

Hmm... This is kind of an issue because of the size of the models used. I think ramming fighters should be out of the question. On a small scale they can get out of there. Never the less. the movement advantage is critical especially for something as big as a carrier. Hell what if a carrier rams another carrier. Yeah, I think stopping is the cure. |
