I'm already into Wormhole for 12 hours just building the fleet (not quite done yet). And now I need to build 2 sets of TOS trays? How come more information isn't provided on the cards, like the damage charts? I seem to require a TOS just for the damage list (the rest of the info is available from other sources like the cards).

I have yet to play the game.

Is there any quicker way to do any of this? Is there a faster to way to get from PDF to playing?

TOS are also required for order tracking. All that I can really say in response to this is that the TOS are extremely easy to build when compared to the ship builds. The 2-D version of the TOS is simpler yet and requires a very minimal time investment. The TOS Command Trays are completely optional but do help keep everything organized and easy to move around in-mass.

That said, we will fully support user created mods on the TOS system.

TOS are very simple to build. If anyone is modding the 3D form please add some sort of support - end cap with a slot for the "Mod Chip insert"

I'm a complete and utter newb to the cardstock modeling thing. I'd hardly even heard about it, let alone understood the extent of it (especially in Europe and Asia), before just a few months ago. I hadn't built a cardstock model, ever, until just about a couple of months ago.

Last night, I timed myself building the 2d version at ~7 min. I also built a 3d version in ~10 min. Now, the WH ships & other things are a different story.

Everything looks great and works well.

Overall, though, I'm satisfied, and I don't feel like I'm spending an inordinate amount of time on the builds.

Just thinking out loud ...

FlOydski's little cards seem pretty cool, especially of the reverse if the card simply had little checkboxes for modchips and the weapons' stats.

Maybe I'm being a premature whiner... I haven't had time to build my TOSes yet. I'm fair certain that it would take me a lot longer to build the 3D TOS.

I was also in the..."man this is gonna take age's" crew...but the TOS and TOS trays really dont take much time at all..maybe the same as a Carrier for me...less for the fighter trays.(by a small amount)
Give one a go...see if it works for you..IMHO it really does add a special little touch

Yeah! I will chime in and say the TOS Panels and trays are some of the easiest & quickest things in the set to assemble.

I knoew they look complicated, but as Denny mentioned. Quick to build, very few cuts... all good!@

I didn't have too much of an issue. It's easier if you do them all at once and get in to a rhythm. I would score the lines (not the reverse score) and then cut out the green slits. The reason was if I messed one of those up (scored a little too deep or cut cut the slit wrong) then I could throw it out and not have wasted that much time. Then I would cut around the outside, fold the switches over and glue them down. Then I set it aside and moved on to the next one and do the same. When I had a stack of them done, I could go back and do my next steps. I would do the reverse score next to the switches that I skipped earlier by running the blade next to the edge of the paper that was folded over. I never had a problem with that going wrong and it seemed the easiest way to line up the reverse score and the edge of the back of the switches. Then I cut the switches away from each other and folded the two switches on the left and right ends down. Then I flipped the back over and glued it using the two folded down switches to see if I was lining it up ok. Press a little along the glue line and set it aside and move on to the next.

The slide that gets inserted is more time consuming for it's size. (time consumed per square inch is higher?) Again, I did them all at once. I didn't put the numbers on, I just wrote in the white boxes and figured I could glue the pretty numbers on later.

OK shutup already! I built the 2D and 3D and it was way fast, and dang if that slider isn't just the cutest thing!

Please shoot the next guy to complain about the TOS...

(I'll still dable in a TOS replacement though. Its a personal preference thing.)

I'm just going to say that I was like you at first, UHF. I am just becoming an average cardstock person (I moved up from complete noob). I thought this was going to be a total time-sucking nightmare. I know other people like me who hate doing extra work that may not pan out.

Ask Denny - I asked repeatedly and tried to rationalize why a 2-D version would be preferrable to a 3-D version of the TOS.

But then, Sacretis told me to really try building one first. So I did. And then I was like, "Holy crap, this is not that hard or time-consuming. And it looks awesome!" And then all my friends were like, "Wow, that is awesome! I'm going to look into getting that!"

So yeah, my personal preference would also like a 2-D version with beads (because I love counters), but I'm satisfied with the 3-D.
