No big deal, but that's my WIP so far: A Sathrican Fleet, both Sparatist and Royalist forces, arrayed on our dining room table (lacking the motivation to run down four storeys to get my BFG gaming board upstairs from the basement ).
What you can see here is all I got battle-ready at the moment.

As you can see, I still have to get a second command tray and fighter tray built for those low-born separatist lads on the left, as well as an additional set of blank trays to support the additional TOS units of my ever-growing Royalist fleet.

Both fleets have a Hammerhead with Railgun, but the Royalist fleet also has one without the additional weapon, relying ony upon his missile racks.

No big kitbashes here, though most of my Particlebows use a combination of the existing kitbashes: I use the top half of the 3D Frigate and glue it to the bottom of the greyscale underside kitbash, wings angled down, then add twin complex engines from the 3D kit. The result pleases me, I like it better than the identical top/bottom of the unmodified 3D bash.

The next pair of Convoy Carriers I'm working on (the infamous Leland Jane along with two command fighter squadrons, and a second standard sparatist CC with an additional missile fighter wing) will have elevated secondary bridges and decks in addition to the main bridge (the basic design is too flat for my taste), as will the next line of Control Corvettes.

I'll upload more pics next time, maybe with a close-up of the combined-kitbash Particlebows.

Nicely done. Thats one of the things that appeals to me about WH, it looks so impressive on the table.

I love to see a fully build-up pair of fleets sitting on a table. Just cheers my heart.

I shudder to contemplate, in a different system, how much you would spend on lead and/or plastic to cover a table like that.

Should I add a pic of my, erm... lead and plastic fleet from a different system next time for reference? Covers only marginally less of that table, and yes, compared with Wormhole it was a real money sink (God bless WWG for making Wormhole).

Wasn't that expensive, though. I worked for a certain company (a couple of years ago) that did this other system with the metal and plastic ships, so I got them a bit cheaper.

But even so, Wormhole as a whole costs about what just four cruisers for the other game would cost. And Wormhole is at least twice the fun, because you're actually thumbing switches and gears!

Yeah! Another fleet has been birthed!

Been there done that. But with my BFG stuff I scratch built most of it so it was relatively cheaper.

Here's one:


Standard Convoy Carrier, but the smaller secondary bridge in front of the main bridge has been added. It's fairly simple, as I only had to slightly alter the textures of the roof to match the 2D appearance of this smaller upper deck. Otherwise it's just a reduced, smaller version of the main bridge. But it looks fine, I think. Added one of those modified CCs to both my royalist and separatist fleet. With my next build, which will be the Leland Jane, I will try and add a 3D version of the rear terraced upper decks as well, along with the necessary changes that swap two flight bays for additional engines.

Looks good, I am thinking I might do something like that when I make my carrier.
