Eventually, every Medieval/ Fantasy game winds up with the adventurers wandering through a portal in to the hellish inferno. A set like this might include:

Walls of flesh/ bone
lots of fiendish torture equipment
pools of fire
pools (and rivers) of blood
twisted pillars covered with writhing faces
a throne of bone
placebale flames and pyres

a set like this would mix well with Caveworks or Gothic Dungeons.
A quick read through Dante's Inferno would provide a host of ideas

I could see this working in a Medieval, Sci-fi or Horror setting.

Hmmmm, this is an interesting one....

Would the SF equivelant be rather like the alien ship in Alien?

Sounds like DOOM on paper! Which would be cool even it wasn't a direct product with ID. With the DOOM board game out, I can see folks wanting to adapt the game with WWG layouts!

Denny - maybe get in touch with Mongoose Publishing and see if they'd be interested in it for the Infernum licence?

For those of you not in the know, Infernum is Mongoose's D20 system game set in hell. Players are either Demons, native humans (either wild tribesmen, slaves or new arrivals who've fallen through reality into Hell before their time) or Fallen Angels.

I picked Infernum up for my SO for her birthday last year... It rocks!

Coupled with Gothic Realms it would make some great Demonic fortresses.

Hmm.... Possibilities!

Infernum is completely open to characters from 1600 - 2100 AD. Of course, you can fudge it a little if you want. The Infernum itself has a very 'Steampunk-y' feel to it, as the story goes that Lucifer split reality with his sword, allowing time to flow into the pit and advancement to take place. The advancemaent being largely in the creation of all sorts of biomechanical horrors for the legions of Hell.
The sample charcters for mortals include natives (tribes that have always been in the Infernum, since long before the Fall of Lucifer) and Newcomers, who can be anything at all. It is strictly orientated towards a 'real world' other realm though rather than fantasy.

Character generation is classless, with some restrictions for demons - Demons come from particular breeds, which affects their stats.
