I bought this last Christmas. After seeing some of the insane setups people were creating with multiple sets. I went and bought another. It really opened up the possibilities for some very dynamic looking terrain. I wish I had a 3rd set to add more "sheer" cliffs. It is a fun and light miniature war game. My son loves it. And my regular/irregular game group like it too. I don't know if I'd want to fold a bunch of Hex shapes up out of paper, and I am not really sure how you would get them to stack/interlock. But some other terrain features you mention might be interesting. A Bridge for sure. But clipping pieces together from underneath does do the job fairly well. Some paper ruins, bunkers, buidings would be cool. You could probably adapt some of Chunky D, or CWU peices to this fairly easily. Some "objective" pieces might be really nice too. -Floyd |

My thoughts were that since they arent metal, the figures are light and wouldnt be a problem for a hex-shaped column type piece to support - I guess if you had a large 7-hex or bigger area as a plateau, they might cause some sag in the middle of the area, but smaller hill-topers and such should offer some new areas that would add to the game. Also, just put the edge texture on the fold-up sides to show height and the player could then cut the height he/she wanted each area to be as needed. A quick and inexpensive way to enhance the playing area. There are also private individuals on the list mentioned that do their own unit cards for custom units and characters, so there is already a nominal paper connection there. May not be the keys to Denny's next Cadilac SUV, but might fill the void for the other hex-based gamers at the same time. Make it to market to the hex gamers, but 'oh, by the way, it fits the hex grid of Heroscape, too.' That should keep the copyright issues at bay, I would hope. Just a thought. I try not to have too many of those at work. ![]() |
