*SIGH* I would love to see an expansion for CWU. Not just Himmelveil (*TWITCH!*) stuff, but an actual expansion. The Auld Grump |

Hey, Conaill - I was thinking about the curved wall, too, but I hadn't thought about the issue of wall thickness. If you're using the 45 degree walls solely to join up with straight walls on both sides, I may have a solution. The top pic shows what the easier version would look like, and the bottom pic shows the solution: You would make a "notch" of sorts for the straight wall to fit into. Make it overlap the straight wall by 1/4", and you've got the right thickness. The only thing this method won't do is longer diagonals, and it won't look right ending out in the open that way. It's only good for joining the size shown, but it's a start! ![]() |

I think we're gonna have an awfully long wait if we leave this up to Denny. These small pieces are just not much of a priority for him. How about one of us designs it - cutting and pasting from existing WWg pieces - and donates it to Denny? He gets copyright and can sell it as an expansion piece. The designer gets his name in print and the adoration of his peers. Seems like a decent tradeoff... |

Were it me, I would approach it in a somewhat more complex, but vastly more flexable manner. Four new pieces: 1) A diagonal wall, simple and rectangular, that would only touch "corner to corner" with any regular Chunky wall that abuts up against it. 2) A "drop in" long diagonal filler...a trapizoidal piece that slides into place between the diagonal wall and two square walls. 3) A "drop in" short diagonal filler...same idea, but for two walls that join close to each other. 4) A "diagonal filler" that connects two diagonal walls. Basically, a vertical column (useful in it's own right). The diagram below explains it better. This seems to provide maximum flexability for the diagonal wall tiles (usable as-is for more huried setups) while also creating the nicer, more finished look for all three possible facings needed. The important thing is that this allows for walls that are useful from EVERY direction, since many of these setups seem to be designed to allow both sides of a wall to matter. |
