How about a world for the faye? It might be difficult I know. Tree houses bridges that hang from tree to tree, crystal palace, huts in the undergrowth of tree roots.

That is a fantastic idea!  In fact, that one concept spawns all kinds of ideas. I will definatly persue that after I complete the VillageWorks and DungeonWorks sets! Thankyou Soothseyer!

The DungeonWorks set should be complete by the end of November (possibly sooner). It's coming along nicely and I think people will be shocked at just how good it looks The VillageWorks set will include a chapel. As far as moderation goes I'll never give up moderation of the forum but I may need help at some point. Prove yourself to be a dedicated member and hopefully user of the product and I'll definitely ask you for a hand Give it a while...

Like: Oriental, SF-Space Station, Aliens like Colony/Hive , Elf Tree Village / Dwarf Rockhome / Planescape style

one thing I personally would be interested in seeing is a science fiction based set.  perhaps a starship or space station interior - May not be a big seller, but there are those of us out there that like to play scifi games that are really jealous of all the nice looking fantasy scenery  ;)

I wanted to cover all the bases with fantasy model sets before moving on to sci-fi. There is defiantly a sci-fi-InteriorWorks in WorldWorks future plans! I hope to move through most major themes with modular model sets for gaming. Unfortunately this won’t happen for some time (unless I hit it big and hire some staff).

Targeting the Warhammer fans would be a great idea, they waste the most cash on terrain.. Have you seen GWs Crap.. Uh I mean terrain?.. Charging 2 arms, a leg and your unborn child.  Dont get me wrong I love the game.. anyways if u branch off into some versatile 40k type stuff It will sell but I suggest you make it so that your costomers dont just buy the set print it once and have the model. If I was doin this type of thing Id do my best to make it so that people could use it multiple times and still want more.

Make it usable with 1.5 inch scale (MKD) Also make a modern City set for the 1.5 inch base (Hero Clix)

I tried to reply on the Dungeonworks expansion thread but for some reason couldn't? Anyway a couple of suggestions for Dungeonworks..

3-D stairways (straight and cornered)
some "rooms" (various shapes/sizes)
3-D wells/pools (slightly raised)
3-D rocks/boulders
Pools, Ledges, Bridges over chasms (could be slightly raised?)
More "organic" dungeons type corridors/rooms (probably heading over to Cavework territory here)

In terms of other projects, I would like to see a lot more "fantasy" type settings done before moving onto sci-fi/heroes type environments.

There's still plenty of things to try such as:

Snowy Mountains (white would save on printing costs, ha!)
Hills/Trails/Shires/Plains
Rocks/StoneHenge
Woods/Forests/Trees/
Lakes/Pools/
Volcano Dungeons/Lava/
Cities/Towns/Hamlets
Swamps

Outdoor terrain will of course be more challenging but I would be very interested in seeing what you could come up with!

Its a great thought and something I plan on doing. My biggest problem right now is having WAY too much on the go. I'll get there eventually. Perhaps we could set up a user created "layouts" section for examples. Hmmmm...

Any way we could lend you a hand in any of this?  I think you've got some loyal and happy fans here who would be willing to pitch in and help out.


Also, is there any new thought about setting up an area where existing customers can swap conversions?  I've done some fairly serious customizations in both the DungeonWorks and VillageWorks sets and would love to share them with fellow WorldWorks customers, but I do *not* want to see your work (of which my customizations is derivitive) be cheapened or see you lose any possible business or income over it.

The conversion thing is definatly something I will persue in future once I either hire on some help or get my butt in gear and catch up. It is a great idea but the problem I will face is dealing with a secure members only area. Im more artist than techy so it will take some time.

The "layouts" idea however is something I am working on as we speak. Hopefully by the end of it users will be able to design their ideal layout before even purchasing the product. For those who already own the product it will be like a layout/idea exchange market. Basically I'm trying to create a layouts "generator". We'll see how it pans out.

DungeonWorks suggestion.

I have purchased DungeonWorks and been impressed with the quality.

However, I find there are too many pieces (walls/corridors/doors) etc to set up (and knock over) and everything is a bit lightweight. (This is not a direct criticism of your work but of card scenery in general) I am scared of moving any miniatures around without knocking things over.

Therefore, I would like to see (if possible) entire rooms which can be put together which can be linked by the corridors.

Or.. perhaps I would like to seem other peoples conversions.

My personal preference would be to have several entire room "pieces" linked by a few corridors rather than a board where wall dividers/corridors are added on top.

Initially I thought about going the "whole room" route but it was just too limiting. Going in that direction really limits the freedom of design for the DM. In the end I wanted to offer the most flexible design possible.

The issue of weight and "staying power" will be addressed very soon. There are two simple, fast techniques that fix this issue in a jiff! I have some heavy ass models sitting here that are very resilient to any table bumping. You can actually flick them with your finger and they stay put. This fix essentially eliminates the main criticism regarding cardstock models. The tutorial should be out this month.

I would love to buy all of your model kits but I do not have that much cash. Have you considered selling in bulk or subscriptions. I was thinking 5% off per every 2 sets (ie; 10% for 4, 15% for 6).
It may boost your sales enough to make up for the discounts (or not. I've never done sales online).
Also, have you thought of pulishing CD's to sell at hobby shops and game stores?

On the question of cost I have to be honest with you, I don't think its possible to make the sets any cheaper than they are. As it is right now I take heat from other "industry types" that say I'm WAY underselling myself. Although I dont have plans for the kind of price reduction youre talking about I will hold sales on occassion to help people in your situation.

On the CD front...I've got something even better in the works. You'll just have to wait and see

Denny,  I gotta hand it to you.  I bought everything before the Gothic Realms and enjoyed the creation of some of it.  Mostly I've only had time to put some of the Pubs & Inns Interior works stuff together (my gaming group thought it was WOW!).  But the Gothic Realms stuff I bought recently just BLEW ME AWAY!!!!!!! ;D  Your cardstock prduct, even the stuff I haven't put together yet (keyword "yet") is excellent!  I can't be more exhuberant with out exploding!

Now on to what I'd like to see.

I've looked around the net looking for some good outdoor terrain (hills, trees, rivers, plains, etc.) and have not seen anything "worthy".  Oh sure Penguin Labs has something, but have you seen their Tree Pak Demo?  Talk about cheesy!  Since I saw the Grand Column part of the Gothic Realms, I figured you could come up with some terrain that wouldn't look like it was just a sandwich board X shape.  Man you can't even trim the "tree" in that demo without losing stability.  I don't think they really went too far into thinking who wold be using it...

Anyway I was thinking that maybe you could come up with something like an Outdoor or Wilderness Realms type of thing.  Something with risers to show hills and different textures to show the difference between grassy hills and mountain terrain.  Maybe even a Dragon cave entryway.  I'm thinking that the columns you've done in Gothic Realms could easily translate into trees and perhaps a Clip-it system to show a dense forest where the only way between the trees is a path.  The Masterboard tiles could have a waterway or grass ot maybe even show low lying shrubbery.  Perhaps even somethng special like a fairie ring of mushrooms for something exotic.  The set could also include some kind of boulders for those areas where you want that giant to have something to throw.

This is all something I'm coming up with on the fly.  I saw the request for the tree city thing and I think that wuld go well with this idea.

A set of mud brick, Middle East buildings would be great.

15 and 25-30mm as these have not really changed much in the last 500 years, they could be used for WWII, Present day, and even Fallout style.

Let me know if it gets produced, as I am ready to buy.
