Greetings, all (first time poster here, so please go easy! :-/ ). First off, I must say that I really love the WorldWorks stuff! Great work, Denny. I have a great respect for your skills at paper modeling (and I just saw the Arenaworks preview put up by Pall_S . . . Wow). However, what I have is not so much a request (it could be seen as such, I guess), but more of a question. Are there any sets out there (from any company) that have 3D characters for use in RPGs? I've seen larger specimens (dragons, mecha, tanks, etc), but I've not seen any actual 1 inch-grid scaled hero player character models. I'm very picky about what I find to be "aesthetically pleasing", and I've always been rather disappointed with the "fold up" method of characters that seems to have become the standard (my first exposure to them was the Battletech 2nd Edition boxed set). Add to them the static nature of the fold ups and it's really something that I'd prefer to avoid. But are there any alternatives to this standard? Does anyone know if anyone's tried to create such things? I can understand the difficulty of such a concept, but I was curious if anyone out there has made any break-throughs or anything. While I love modding, painting, and casting my own minis, it's a hobby that can get prohibitively expensive (I DON'T love having to plunk down $5.00 to $10.00 per mini each time I think up a new monster). And I was wondering if there were an alternative to the one Worldworks provides for dungeon modelers? Thanks to anyone who replies. |

Welcome to the boards! You'll find everyone here friendly and helpful ![]() Regarding what you are asking about, the only company I know trying a 3D paper mini at present is, IIRC, Creation Matrix Games (check out www.creationmatrixgames.com) - they have a product on rpgnow.com called Fantasy Matrix 1 that is 3D fantasy minis in paper. Check them out. Otherwise Microtactix does a vast number of the fold-up figures, but they are of the style you seem to dislike. |

Welcome, Raptor. As far as 25mm scale fold-up people, all I can say is "yikes!" I know my fingers aren't that dextrous... ![]() If you're looking for something big, though, try the Chromatic Dragons set from Penguin Labs. I've only built the red dragon so far, but it sure is impressive. The instructions are a bit lacking (especially compared to Denny's lavishly illustrated ones) but overall a great set. D |

I am working on a very interesting miniatures project but it's still a few months from release. The scope of the project is massive. Thats all I can say for now. |
