I don't know if you guys keep up with the MageKnight news, but as the local Warlord I'm on the forums all the time. You may or may not know that MageKnight version 2.0 is getting ready for release. Well the word on the street is that all the uniques under the new system are going to have a bigger base. Well, as you know all the Heroes from the Dungeon line are also Uniques - so if Dungeonclicks comes out at a 1.5 inch scale any new Dungeons stuff will not fit. This might be bad. Take a look at the new 3D Dungeon Tiles that have just been released, they are bigger than the original 2D Dungeon Tiles - so I have a feeling that Dungeonclicks should follow that scale if it's going to be a bestselling set like it should be. [I don't have an exact measurement on the 3D tiles, because while they are nice looking they are just way too expensive and you don't get very much for your money. I will check out the stores demo set and find out what the new scale is.] |

Wow, thanks for the info Rust. I'll have to do a bit of homework before I plunge into the expansion I guess. I wonder just how big they intend on making future bases. I thought 1.5-inch was pushing it as it was. |

I cant find base measurements for the new figures anywhere (or pictures for that matter). Can anyone help me out in the hunt? Thanks in advance. Denny. |

Denny, went by the shop tonight and measured the 3D tiles - they are exactly 2 inches square. Here is a pic of what they look like http://www.wizkidsgames.com/mkdungeons/ ... e=products They are kind of plain, and you don't get very much for the money in my opinion. |

Thanks for the info Rust. Any idea what the exact base size will be for the new figs? Do you have a link to the article where they mention increasing the base size? Thanks in advance ![]() |

I'm still looking for the official response from WizKids, but here is a quote from a guy who has the 2.0 promo fig. "Now, I took out my Fedrin Starsdawn demo figure, and noticed a bit ago that he's larger than the other MK 1.0 figures. His scale is just a bit different (He's about a head and shoulder above the normal figures, and larger everywhere else too). But the big thing is, his dial is bigger, to reflect the relic slots, the ability nexus, and all the new information. " This and the talks about how the new uniques won't fit in the Chariots, and the measurement of the new Dungeon tiles, are what I'm basing all this on... If I find something official I will post it. Next chance I get I'll measure my MK2.0 uniques and get a base size diameter. It's only slightly larger than the original dial, which was 1.25" so I suspect it will fit in the 1.5" grid. MK's 3d Dungeon tiles are 2" grid and 2.25" high. I'm working on a paper wall extension so we can save money on walls. The pricing and packaging makes walls expensive to get enough, versus the floor tiles are cheap to get. Basically a Starter is $30 with 24 walls, 8 doors, and 36 floor tiles A booster is $10 with 36 floor tiles. My estimates are that you need 1 wall tile per floor tile to fully wall in the typical dungeon and as you can see, walls are nearly 2/3 the cost of the Starter. My current plan is to build paper spacer walls to go between 2 of the plastic walls. I can design it to cover 2-10" spaces which would cover the large areas of walls users would need. I'd also like to see things like double doors and other props for the 2" scale. When I get the wall done, I'll see about making it available here and at other WK related sites. Janx |

If you convert the pdf to a jpg and double the size (roughly) you get the 2" conversion since WW is based on the 1" 25mm scale. |

Good point Hisst! As Hisst points out, there should be no problem with figure size in a 1.5" grid (no more than usual). And, as long as it is pretty easy for users to resize the graphics before printing, then we can get any scale we want and it should be fine. I plan making props to fit the 1.5" scale, with some pieces to work with the 2" scale for use with my MKD 3d stuff. Now, an interesting thought, Hisst says the village buildings are basically 5"x5", which if I enlarge by 1.5, I'll get buildings roughly 7.5" which is closer to the size MK uses for tournament terrain (largest template for MK is 4"x8"). I may have to pick me up a set and try it out (heck at $15 that's pretty cheap). |

Janx, If you are looking for Dungeon stuff (props etc) Dungeonworks is very inexpensive. Also, download the Dungeon Entrance freebie that Denny has up. It is from Villageworks and will give you something to play with. Out of all the sets Villageworks has been used the most by me. I may play with the building sizes myself but I recommend VW. ArenaWorks has some good flat-top buildings but the scale seems to be smaller than VW (by a small margin). |

Is there still enough interest in MageKnight Dungeons to warrent a DugeonClix? I know that around here Dungeons died out a long time ago. There aren't even enough MageKnight players left for the game shop to run tournaments anymore. Anyway, if nobody is going to buy DungeonWorks then the time it would take to produce it could be better used on something else. Anybody have a strong MageKnight Dungeons following in their area? |
