I'm a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge standee fan. I have dozens and dozens of homegrown standees that I use more often than my metals! I can't preach enough about how much I love them... but I will say that gluing them to standard mini bases is a match made in heaven!
I think standees work best when their proportions are similar to those of solid minis. The Steve Jackson and another manufacturer's minis are of 'realistic' scale and proportions, and only really work on the board with the other standees from their lines. Plus, they're not cut-out-friendly, and look out of scale with terrain scaled for solid minis.
I can't wait for more WW minis and for more to be integrated with sets!
