Thomas, You should listen to the World Works Games Radio episode that we discussed Village Works. Denny was talking with Paul on there about doing some WW2 buildings, aircraft, UBoats, etc. Of which, Paul being a big WW2 & general history buff was pretty excited about it. So don't be suprised if those don't appear on the radar at some point. And let me just say.... YES! I cannot wait! Hell in the Hedgerows baby! ~Floyd |

I use Battleground WW2 and it has tables for 15mm and 20mm scales - mostly the ranges change. Have you checked out Flames of War? They have announced a Normandy module coming up in the next few years. I like BGWW2 because it has 2 Normandy modules - Red Devils at Night, with the Brit airborn ops, and Normandy Nightmare, with the 29th Infantry Division vs the German Fallschirmjaegers and Wehrmacht troops. Some of the modules are scaled for 20mm and have to be modified up or down a little, but overall they are very good. |

I would really love historic stuff, WWI , WWII, Naps, ACW... in both 15mm and 25-28mm scales. |

The Villageworks stuff works well for European buidings just about throughout history, so will work for Napoleonics and WW2 for the villages along the way if not the cities themselves. I found several Napoleonic skirmish gaming rules online if you are looking for something like that. I think skirmish gaming is the closest connection between RPGs and traditional miniatures games. The "grand tactical" Napoleonics games make one building work as a village or small city. Hard to place a unit in a nice looking town when one figure represents hundreds of troops. I think Flames of War is a one=one game, but it is based in in groups of 4 plus command sections. Battleground WW2 and some other skirmish games are based as individual troops, so they can maneuver in a village or even in room-to-room fighting. I have played everything from 5mm to 28mm WW2, and I have decided to go with 28s for most of my gaming, and have some 5mm Napoleonics for Piquet Napoleonic gaming with their CdePK module. I still paint 15s for my friend, but I have sold off my own armies of American Civil War figures in that scale. If you consider skirmish gaming in 15mm, many rules allow for multiple figure basing if that is what you prefer, but I think it is still the best to have them individually mounted. You can use small washers for basing 15s and they will stick to magnets in the bottom of your transport box, keeping them from getting all scarred up in transport. |
