Yep and yep.

A professional finished product that allows a vet or a new comer too plug and play straight off the cuff.


As a kitbash I haven't the foggiest but will play around with it. I'm not the best planner.

I think it's a great idea LA. In fact it gives me an interesting idea for creating layout compilations. What I would really like to do to compliment this concept would be to create 'Sketch-up'-like constructs so that I could crank out multiple angles of the layouts as well. If I was able to manipulate them in 3-D space this would also allow me to quickly generate a number of layouts with relative ease.

This also ties into something that I've been thinking about and trying to get moving for a long time now. Basically, releasing "adventure plugins" which have layouts and simple objectives associated with them. These would "plugin" to a GM's pre-existing adventure saving him time and energy.

I suppose the big question is whether or not people would actually be interested in this type of product and at what price point it would be a success.

I'll not put price to it but sometimes is more time consuming thinking...Ok what I need to build what I want...? that ... let's spend X bucks (where X is more or less like a kitbash) and I've a file with a layout and saying...2 doors - 3 2" walls ... etc ... I belive it will be a good idea to do it...

And hope We have something for the 3 kings (6 January) to buy for me (Is like the tradition of the Father Noel here in Spain -and a few other Countries- the 3 wise men from Orient that bring presents to the just born Jesus...)

Ok First off am I understanding the full concept correctlly:
What you mean is a small collection of single page maps. Each map would be drawn in a 3-d Enviroment and would have some overall shots for it from a couple of angles so you can see how one item sits with another. Also the map would come with a numbered guide informing you exactlly what is needed to build it and a overhead view listing what items are where. The final item with each map is a secondary sheet give some plot hooks and plug in tips to aid Game Masters in adding the scene to their ongoing campaign/adventure.

The secondary point being the price, that would be a hard one. Seeing as this is actually a very limited item/release the initial thought was low, however for each map there is a good bit of information to go along with it (pictuers from various angles, plot arcs, advice). For aproxmitly 5-8 maps I guess I would say $5 US. That is at the high end of kitbash prices and just under the lowest priced sets.

The problem I see (for your end) is low sells, quite a few people would have little or no use for the maps (I myself would have none but would prpably buy it just to be supportive). Of course you could always do that whole "we did something different" thing and maybe increase both the sets value in dollors and to other people. (maybe add some standiees as well)

I think it's a great idea! I have a great deal of trouble coming up with layouts. WWG kits are like having a pile of erector set parts, and you can make anything you can think of. But ... sometimes the parts don't go together just right, or reach across to another part just so, and you are back to the drawing board.

Also, someone who sees a cool map in an adventure (plenty to shoose from out on RPGNow and various magazines) then has to figure out how to build something close to that using WWG bits. Perhaps he can't build that curved piece exactly right, so then the fudging of the map takes over as you try and shoehorn pieces in.

Having a set of maps SPECIFICALLY designed for WWG kits means:
(a) a COMPLETE list of ever piece needed and how many
(b) a nice overhead shot (and some 3D views would be cool) so you can visualize it whole
(c) a TERRIFIC marketing tool for y'all. You could bundle up some maps for one set (so every map in that bundle is possible with that one set) but then you could have a final map that has "extras" that come from another set. The extras dress up the map further, but they are there in such a way that you can add them or not and the overall map doesn't change.

That might get somebody to say "Wow! I was only going to build the underground sewers, but now that I see the "cave-in" section and the cave works bits, I've gott a get that set too!"

I think a buck a map is a fair price, because you're also talking about a nice color map, a detailed list of all components, possibly a b&w version of the map with part numbers so you know which part on the list goes where, and even perhaps a 3d version of the map or two. Now that I list all that out, I can see it selling for more than $5, maybe 4 maps for $7 or something like that.
