I think that this is a pretty cool idea. I also think that it would work in RPGs as well. It certainly wouldn't be necessary, but it would look awesome! |

Yes, the permanent campaign table in the General's compendium is kind of what I was talking about when I initially suggested it. It would really give a great sense of gravitas to a wargaming campaign to have a real map to be fighting over instead of color coded territories on a piece of paper. |

Since I have no clue how to post pictures or html pages I suggest just going to google and searching for warhammer mighty empires. Sorry i can't help more but i will gladley post pictures once I figure it out.

Actually this project could be right up the Grumps ally. As from what I remember he is a master of CC3. Using that program the base mapping and hexes could be done. I feel that this style project lends itself to the hex shape. I would think that the tile that had the city or 3D feature should be built as a permanent build. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

I much prefer the original Mighty Empires tiles to these plastic things. Not only is there less variety but the thick border really breaks up the appearance of a free-flowing landscape. Plus you have yet another thing to paint! |

Map aside what does everyone think should be on it? I personally like the ideas of armies and towns but a caravan for players on an adventure. Camp sites, and scenery that can be placed in seconds to create a 3-d representation of the landscape. Why not even include almost a mini castle works. It could have .5in high walls and small towers. Thats all ya really need and with simple designs a modeler may bust one out in around half an hour. This way castles and keeps may be represented easily in just a few hours of work. Plus I believe the guys at world works could make it look incredibly bad ass. |

That isn't specifically the one I was talking about, I would have to scan in a picture from my copy of the compendium and I'm not entirely clear if that breaks copyrights. This table I'm talking of was a 4' by 4' table built entirely from scratch in less than 15mm scale to represent the area of the conflict. The armies were represented by one stand of Warmaster models that could move so many inches based on their composition. |
