I was looking over the Walthers catolog online and it hit me how expensive it is to buy even simple buildings for trackside on model railroads. It struck me that this might be a new venue for the beautiful products produced here. Since some of the ideas for City Works and Village Works Ultimate might be usable for HO guage railroads, it seems that things like trackside structures wouldnt be that hard to create, and a layout that could quickly and economically build up a city-scape with so much detail without having to assemble, paint and mount all of it from scratch would surely appeal to many railroad modelers. Relativly simple European buildings cost around $30 for a small house, church or station, and I know Denny could do much better than that. I think you could scale back Village Works and the City Works items a bit to get closer to HO scale, use gridless ground tiles, and you would have a start for the market. |

Another great idea! I've toyed with using some of the WWG buildings for Christmas (under the tree, cheaper than Department 56) with some mods, and railroading is another way to use them, properly scaled. |

I have not been all that impressed with the MT stuff, it just does not compare with WW. Which is why I really hope Denny & Co. tackle Western & Victorian sets. WW is slightly more expensive, yet by far the better bargain. The Auld Grump |

I haven't. I don't look at Reaper minis anymore. They are too tempting. Easily the best metal minis line I've ever seen (and a Texas company, too!) - but you know my feelings about painting minis these days. Heck, I still have a box full of Reapers that I couldn't part with when I sold off all my metal minis. |
